Skins are a major aspect of Fortnite, and today we want to show you the rarest skins that this game has to offer.

One main factor in this game’s success was the consistent release of new character skins. However, given the vast amount of skins that were released up to this point; most of the rarest skins in Fortnite are from the first couple of seasons of Chapter 1.

Some of the rarest skins in Fortnite were also featured as part of a partnership deal with other franchises. Over the years, these limited edition items became rare and highly sought after.

1. Renegade Raider

Renegade Raider skin in Fortnite

The first season of Fortnite had skins that we consider rare gems today, and the ‘Renegade Raider’ skin was a part of that memorable era. It was available after reaching level 20, and you had to get 1200 V-Bucks in order to buy it.

Seeing as how Fortnite was released in 2017, you won’t really get to witness this skin in-game. But when you do see someone rocking it, you’ll know they’ve been at it since day one. Similar versions of this skin have been released throughout the years.

2. Galaxy

Galaxy skin in Fortnite

This skin was released as part of a particular partnership deal with Samsung back when Fortnite Mobile first launched. Samsung’s Galaxy devices were the first to get access to the mobile version of the game. The only way of getting this skin was by buying a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 or Samsung Galaxy Tab S4.

At the time, it quickly became one of the most popular and best skins to own. It had a design that was unlike anything we’ve seen up to that point in Fortnite. Moving on, we can safely say that both the design and rarity are what cemented this skin’s reputation in the community.

The ‘Galaxy’ skin hasn’t been available since. But, there is another similar limited-edition skin called ‘Glow’. You can get it by purchasing any of the newer galaxy devices.

3. Black Knight

Black Knight skin in Fortnite

The ‘Black Knight’ skin is another very popular Fortnite skin that many people want to get their hands on. It was released as part of Fortnite’s first Battle Pass in the 2nd Season of Chapter 1. People could’ve acquired it by completing every tier of the Battle Pass, and as time went on, it became a timeless classic.

The design of this skin is something to behold. Every single little detail complements the theme of the skin and how it was made. The color scheme is also a big reason why it’s considered memorable.

Another major factor behind its popularity is the fact that it was included in Fortnite’s first official battle pass, which holds a fair amount of significance.

4. Aerial Assault Trooper

Aerial Assault Trooper skin in Fortnite

The ‘Aerial Assault Trooper’ is another skin from the earliest days of Fortnite. It was available for purchase upon reaching level 15 in the first season of Fortnite, and you had to cough up 1200 V-Bucks for it.

Once again, this skin isn’t anything unique in terms of design and theme. The reason why it’s extremely popular is due to its rarity. Additionally, not many people picked this skin over the ‘Renegade Raider’, which is why it becomes even rarer as time passes.

With all of that being said, it could be labeled as the rarest Fortnite skin right now. It’s like digital gold.

5. The Reaper

The Reaper skin in Fortnite

‘The Reaper’ came into the scene during the 3rd Season of Chapter 1. In comparison to the other skins mentioned on this list, this one’s a bit newer, which is also why it’s more recognizable. Lastly, what makes this skin unforgettable is the fact that it’s based on the famous film character “John Wick”.

Strangely enough, sometime in 2019, a more updated version of this John Wick skin was released. When this happened, Epic didn’t update the original version, and now you have two almost identical skins in the game. With ‘The Reaper’ being the far rarer version.

6. Omega

Omega skin in Fortnite

The 4th season of Chapter 1 was when Fortnite achieved peak popularity, but this was still a long time ago. The ‘Omega’ skin was available as a reward for reaching Tier 100 in the Season 4 Battle Pass. It came in 6 stages, and the player could’ve unlocked it gradually by reaching certain levels.

Players still consider this skin as one of the best, especially because of how cool the overall design is. Unlocking each stage for this skin was a challenge in and of itself, and players felt like they got more than they paid for. It’s a great reminder of the glory days, and we hope they add it to the item shop in the future.

7. Double Helix

Double Helix skin in Fortnite

The ‘Double Helix’ skin was only available as part of Nintendo and Epic’s partnership deal, where the Nintendo Switch was sold in a limited-edition Fornite bundle. You could’ve unlocked this skin by claiming the DLC code that came with the bundle.

The Nintendo Switch x Fortnite bundle can’t be bought anymore, making the ‘Double Helix’ skin an immensely rare item to own. The only way you could really get this skin is if you found or bought an unopened bundle from an unlicensed seller. Funnily enough, this situation is somewhat similar to the ‘Galaxy’ skin.

8. Sparkle Specialist

Sparkle Specialist skin in Fortnite

The original ‘Sparkle Specialist’ could’ve been unlocked by reaching Tier 56 in the Season 2 Battle Pass. Once again, skins like this are usually rare because of their age. Although neat, the design isn’t anything otherwordly.

2 years after its release, Epic decided to release a revamped version of it called ‘Sparkle Supreme’. This version is much more sophisticated and offers a better overall design. Regardless, the ‘Sparkle Specialist’ will always hold a special place in our hearts, no matter how many versions of it get released.

9. Honor Guard

Honor Guard skin in Fortnite

The ‘Honor Guard’ skin can only be acquired upon purchasing one specific smartphone – the Huawei Honor View 20. Now, this is where things get complicated and situational. If you’re not in need of a phone, especially not the Honor View 20, then there isn’t another way to get this skin.

Most of us already have a smartphone, and probably prefer other brands of smartphones. This makes the ‘Honor Guard’ one of the rarest and most expensive skins in Fortnite, as you’d have to pay roughly about $500-$600 for the aforementioned phone.

10. Dark Voyager

Dark Voyager skin in Fortnite

The ‘Dark Voyager’ skin was introduced to Fortnite as a Tier 100 reward in the 3rd Season of Chapter 1. This skin’s reputation can be attributed to Fortnite’s popularity during Season 3, and many people look back at those times with rose-tinted glasses.

Season 10 of the same chapter brought back a remade version of this skin called ‘Eternal Voyager’. This updated version had much more detail, and there were also separate unlockable stages for it.

With all that being said, the chances of most of these skins returning are slim, especially promotional stuff. But at the same time, it wouldn’t surprise us if any of the older seasonal skins were to return in the future.

Keep a close eye on the item shop from now on, you never know when a classic skin may reappear. If you’re one of the lucky people that own a rare skin, it must feel marvelous.
