10 Things Fans Want to See in GTA 6

top 10 gta 6 things fans want

With the new year upon us, questions surrounding the latest entry in Grand Theft Auto were at their peak. However, Rockstar Games was quick to realize the fans’ anticipation and announced on February 4, 2022, that the development for GTA 6 is already underway.

But will GTA 6 be based around the iconic Los Santos? Will Rockstar add more engaging missions in the story? Only time will tell whether the latest title will become a rage in the gaming industry, but one thing is for certain — Rockstar’s ability to deliver polished and highly engaging games, time and time again. That said, we can tell you what we want to see in GTA 6.

More Robbery Missions in GTA 6

Fans flock to the GTA titles as it offers something that most games fail to provide. That is, the ability to beat anyone to a pulp and steal their money. Now if you do this for sheer pleasure, that is a discussion for some another day.

However, on a serious note, GTA 5 has plenty of tasks for players to complete. While some include carrying out deliveries, it’s safe to say that the fun ones are usually those that include robbing someone or a store. On top of this, the thrill of escaping the police right after, adds layers of fun to the entire experience. But, GTA 5 had a limited number of stores that players could rob and it would be amazing if we could see more of these missions in the next iteration. And if the game releases this year, it might as well make it to our list of 12 upcoming games for 2022.

More Verticality

Apart from landing your helicopter on top of a building, laying down cover fire from a low-rise rooftop, or, flying one plane straight inside another in GTA V’s insanely fantastic Minor Turbulence scenario, the greater part of the action has been contained at ground level.

With games like Assassin’s Creed, Cyberpunk 2077, Skyrim, and Legend Of Zelda demonstrating how climbing mechanisms and true verticality can enhance the action in open landscapes, GTA pales in comparison. While some buildings in the GTA series were more explorable than others, they weren’t as dense or as abundant as those in the Night City in Cyberpunk 2077. Rockstar already allows players to climb the cranes around the construction sites, so enabling players to do the same on different parts of the map would be easy to implement.

Smarter NPCs

The NPCs in GTA 5 are often the butt of the jokes surrounding the game. One minute a pedestrian will be spewing abuses at you, and the second you pull out your Glock, they will start apologizing, albeit with no remorse.

While we acknowledge that crafting a rich, evolving narrative for each character in the game is impossible, there is certainly the possibility of fleshing out key supporting characters. Also, when it comes to meeting people in the streets of Los Santos, why not add more aggression or attitude to their personalities.

Moreover, the cops in the GTA series have the potential to be a lot smarter. They stop chasing the player despite them being in the vicinity. We get that the cop chase is not the primary aspect of the game, but it is one of the most simulating. Maybe after a couple of back-to-back offenses, let players experience what jail is actually like?

Dedicated Modding Tool

The modding community has always managed to keep the old GTA titles fresh, pumping out bizarre yet engaging mods. But the modders never really got the love from the developers, with one of the popular modders getting DMCA strikes from the publishers of the game last year.

Although, Rockstar has the opportunity to get things right this time around. If you tune into any GTA 5 streams with roleplay, all the servers are heavily modded and players love the interactions that come naturally due to the same. If a majority of the community loves the mods, this means there’s a market for it as well. So why not support it by introducing modding tools and server browsers?

Different Islands on the Map

From a gamer’s perspective, huge maps are fantastic as they bring more missions to the table. And players usually love to spend some time exploring them. The Los Santos map is huge, one of the reasons why players adore GTA 5. As a result, The Grand Theft Auto Series increased the popularity of open-world games.

However, if Rockstar can add more islands to the map, like in GTA San Andreas, it can add much to gameplay value. Adding different islands might spike the number of missions and replay value of the game.

Female Characters

The Grand Theft Auto series seems to have no shortage of famous playable characters over the years, but the absence of even a single female among them feels like a lost chance, especially after GTA V’s three-headed, all-male plot.

Yes, the criminal underworld is typically a male-dominated landscape, but that only adds to the intrigue surrounding the females who do manage to carve their way into the industry. And it seems like a good marketing opportunity and targets a bigger part of the demographic, considering almost half the gamers around the world are girls, right?

More Interactive Buildings

While no one can argue with GTA V’s vastness, with a map larger than three of the prior games combined, there is a case to be made for more density. The simplest way to add more details to an open world is to let players interact with the buildings, allowing them to go inside and explore.

With the map expanding on a big scale in each GTA title, the number of buildings players can go inside hasn’t gone up by that much. The modding community does a great job of opening these buildings to players on roleplay servers, but it would be much better if Rockstar were to take charge of the situation. Imagine the possibilities that come with such an addition. Who knows maybe someone can add ground loot to these buildings and create a Battle Royale mode in the world of Grand Theft Auto.

Custom Playlists in GTA 6

The music and, more often than not, funny radio segments are one of the first things players notice while driving through Los Santos’ streets in GTA 5. Although there are a lot of radio stations to pick from, it would be amazing to have the ability to put on custom music. Players can also put on their favorite podcasts, while on the road with their friends.

The Multitheft Auto mod for San Andreas does a great job of tackling this issue and Rockstar can achieve this with the help of linking Spotify or even Youtube playlists with the game. Additionally, GTA 5 was released in 2013 and if Rockstar intends to release one game every decade, they need to provide options to the players to keep their playlists fresh in-game.

More Career Options in GTA 6

It’s true that a game with the name Grand Theft Auto isn’t going to let players become fashion designers or sports athletes. But, where former games have had the player assume the role of some variation of the archetypal career criminal, wouldn’t it be more fun – and vastly expand the plot possibility – to take on the role of a corrupt cop?

Further, it would also allow players to access the behind-the-scenes and experience how the police system works in the game. Imagine GTA 6 allowing players to get in the shoes of a DEA agent, wouldn’t that be something?

Dynamic Missions in the Story Mode

Last but not least, the GTA story has always been engaging and takes a while to complete. However, the missions are extremely linear, requiring players to go from point A to B, with the missions not passing if done otherwise. Despite GTA 5 having three leads in its story, the missions lack variety and ingenuity.

Moreover, a lot of fans feel that a proper crime story can be a part of the game while keeping the Rockstar style of humor. A great way to achieve the same can be to draw story-telling inspiration from the likes of GTA 4 and Red Dead Redemption 2, showing the rise and eventual fall of a drug kingpin.

That said, flashbacks of Liberty City will not only attract the long-time fans of the franchise but also add layers of depth to the story. And of course, don’t shy away from violence and intensity. A drug lord doesn’t get to sit on their throne without burning some bridges, to say the least!
