100 Thieves has bought out the Call of Duty League slot from Optic Gaming Los Angeles, and will be participating in the 2020-2021 season.
The Los Angeles based organization will fill the 2020-2021 Call of Duty League spot that was held by Optic Gaming Los Angeles the previous year. 100 Thieves which made an incredible run of championships in Black Ops 4, did not participate in the most recent Call of the Duty League season.

This announcement return comes almost a year after their CEO, prominent ex-Call of Duty Pro Nadeshot, put out a saddening message explaining why 100 Thieves is choosing to leave Call of Duty esports.
Nadeshot explained that the cost of buying a team slot, which was reportedly $25 million, was too much in relation to what he thought he could profit from remaining in the league. Nadeshot and 100 Thieves decided that investing was not the correct use of their money at the time and chose to exempt themselves from Call of Duty Esports.
The departure of 100 Thieves from Call of Duty saddened the community and had the community start to question whether transitioning into a city-based league with massive buy-ins was hurting the esport.
After the conclusion of Call of Duty Championship 2020, Nadeshot had consistently joked about the creation of a team called “LA Thieves” on his livestream. Months later, the truth arises that 100Thieves has officially re-entered Call of Duty Esports and will be known as the LA Thieves. As well as HECZ having complete control of the Optic Gaming brand, as it officially is no longer under the Infinite Gaming Call of Duty League spot.
