With Worlds 2020 Knockout Stage draws being confirmed, we’re going to share some of our Pick’em & give some insight into why we made those decisions.
Worlds Pick’em Knockout Stage – Davide: “Things only got harder”

Davide: my picks so far haven’t gone great, I managed to get only 30 points. Many points were lost as I switched two teams in the standings multiple times, losing points in the process. However, I think I have a good idea about how teams’ strengths.
First of all, I think that the 3 strongest teams so far are DWG, JDG & TES. I think most people will agree on this without much of a doubt. This is why TES & JDG will advance to Semis without much problem. Too bad but Fnatic & Suning’s ceilings aren’t as high.
In the other bracket, I’m putting G2 slightly over Gen.G. I’m convinced that most Bo5 are decided with teamfights & G2’s extremely good at it. DAMWON beat DRX multiple times in the LCK so things won’t change much.
In Semi-Finals, I’ve decided to risk JDG vs TES. LPL’s 2nd seed was victorious in the spring split while TES won summer. Even though I think that TES is slightly more consistent, JDG’s ceiling is higher: the deciding factor will be Kanavi, so watch out for him. He can make or break the team.
Meanwhile, DWG is just that stronger than G2 in my opinion, both individually & as a team. G2 might only get a game off of the opponents but I don’t see DWG losing.
With that being said, the finals will be JDG vs DWG. I’m going to predict that Korean will reign supreme again, as I think DWG has been so strong this year that they deserve the title. There might be some LCK bias ( I’ve followed LCK more this year ) but I think everyone does to a certain extent… Anyway, things can be changed later on so this is just my overall idea
Naerlyn: “Picks can be changed after quarterfinals, so I’m just predicting these right now”

Naerlyn: FNC vs TES give me a strong feeling of déjà-vu from last year’s FNC vs FPX. Fnatic seems to have both a better line-up and mindset than last year, so I’d give them higher odds of upsetting, but TES has been on another level so far.
JDG vs SN: A hard one to gauge since those line-ups have never faced in a BO5, but past results and recent showing would give JDG a slight edge.
G2 vs Gen.G: While Korea can never be counted out, G2 has a strong showing against this region, always overperforms in BO5s, and has players that are a lot more used to these high-pressure matches.
DWG vs DRX: A rematch of the LCK finals that DWG won 3-0 ( for semifinals and beyond, I’ll change my picks based on quarter results, since we can do that this year, so no clue until then )
