Black Ops Cold War: All The Guns In The Game (So far!)

Updated:

As expected, Black Ops Cold War brings a whole load of new weapons to the battlefield. Here’s all the guns in the game so far… Some look familiar, like the AK-47. Some are a little bit new!

Despite complaints that every new Call of Duty title is kind of similar to the last, every game has a new gun roster that’s different from the last. Of course, there are some series regulars involved but why change what isn’t broken.

Well, okay. In Black Ops Cold War‘s case… The MP5 is a little broken, but we’ll move past that. Weapons like the 1911 sidearm and the AK-47 are always going to show up in Call of Duty games. That’s a standard. However, they are often ever-so-slightly different. If not in physical appearance, definitely in the way they handle and feel.

Black Ops Cold War is no different. The game is full of both old and new weaponry making for an exciting array of loadout options that promises to evolve with Black Ops Cold War‘s seasonal content drops.

Not sure what to stick in your loadout? Perhaps you’re after the perfect Zombie-Killing machine for a high-round survival attempt? This should help you pick from what’s on offer.

All The Guns In Black Ops Cold War – Primaries

Assault Rifles

XM4 – Assault Rifle Alpha

The XM4 is the first Assault Rifle you unlock in Black Ops Cold War. It’s, of course, pretty similar to every other M4 variant we’ve seen before from Call of Duty. That doesn’t make it any less dangerous though. It’s pretty well balanced and perfect to get things started.

AK-47 – Assault Rifle Bravo

The AK-47 is the bigger, harder-hitting Assault Rifle when you compare this series staple with the other repeat entries into the Call of Duty gun locker. It fires a little bit slower, but it’s higher damage output helps balance it out as another viable pick.

Krig 6 – Assault Rifle Charlie

This is the “Kilo” of the group, for those who know Modern Warfare and Warzone. It’s got similar stats to the XM4 but ultimately is better suited at longer ranges. It’s got more damage than the XM4 too to compensate this, but if you’re up close and personal… Both will do a fine-enough job.

” Full-auto assault rifle. Improved damage and accuracy. Excellent weapon control and visibility when sustaining fire.”

QBZ-83 – Assault Rifle Delta

The QBZ-83 is the perfect assault rifle for players who want to play with the mobility more akin to a Submachine Gun, but retain the damage output of an Assault Rifle. It’s a little spray and pray, but the right attachments can make this more than manageable.

” Full-auto assault rifle. Superior mobility with improved handling speed. Erratic initial recoul with less accurate hipfire spread.”

FFAR 1 – Assault Rifle Echo

This is the highest-level Assault Rifle unlock in Black Ops Cold War. It shoots fast, reloads fast, and does a fair amount of damage. With an Extended Magazine, or a magazine that helps with quicker reload times, it can be more than viable in holding down objectives or longer killstreaks.

” Full-auto assault rifle. Fast fire rate with quick reloading speeds. Modest damage and slightly less ammo capacity.”

Submachine Guns

MP5 – Submachine Gun Alpha

The MP5 is the first Submachine Gun you unlock in Black Ops Cold War and it’s one of the best. It’s got low recoil and a fast fire rate meaning it’s great at taking down opponents at close-to-mid ranges. It is even pretty great at hitting people from longer ranges too, although the damage drop-off is noticeable compared to an Assault Rifle.

” Full-auto submachine gun. Fast fire rate with low recoil. Good visibility and control when firing.”

Milano 821 – Submachine Gun Bravo

The Milano may look familiar to some of you. That’s because it is pretty-much a rebranded Uzi. It’s got a slower fire rate than the MP5 however it’s got increased mobility and hipfire spread making it perfect for running and gunning.

” Full-auto submachine gun. High damage with a slower fire rate and fair recoil. Improved handling speeds with more accurate hipfire spread.”

AK-74u – Submachine Gun Charlie

The AK-47’s baby brother does exactly what you expect it to do. It hits hard and it hits fast. Bullet velocity might not matter as much as other statistics if you’re up close, but the improvements here make the AK-74u more viable at longer ranges.

” Full-auto submachine gun. Improved damage with reliable weapon control. utilizes 5.45mm ammo for superior bullet velocity.”

KSP 45 – Submachine Gun Delta

The KSP 45 is a weird gun. It’s a triple-burst Submachine Gun that never quite feels like it does enough damage to justify it’s firing option. It’s a solid pick for mid-to-long range conflicts if you’re not fancying an M16, though. And, compared to other Submachine Guns it does do a fair bit of damage.

” 3-round burst submachine gun. High damage with moderate range. Burst fire spread is less efficient at long range.”

Bullfrog – Submachine Gun Echo

It’s the PP-19, for Modern Warfare and Warzone players, but… Better? The improved ammo pool is the main selling point of this weapon as it frees up another attachment slot that might otherwise be taken up by an extended magazine in other Submachine Guns. It’s also got a good enough range to rival the MP5 and AK-74u if you can keep it’s recoil under control.

” Full-auto submachine gun. Reliable damage with improved range. Large ammo pool and less accurate hipfire spread.”

Tactical Rifles

Type 63 – Tactical Rifle Alpha

The Type 63 is a Gewehr and an SKS rolled into one. It’s a two-shot kill above the belt and offers a fast-enough fire rate that you should be handle most other enemies if you’re accurate enough. It’s a solid pick for someone looking for more accuracy in long-range gunfights.

” Semi-auto tactical rifle. High damage and reliable accuracy with a lower ammo capacity. Fair visibility and control while firing.”

M16 – Tactical Rifle Bravo

The M16 is, and always will be, a beast. It’s currently a one-burst kill in Black Ops Cold War and is a fantastic pick for most scenarios. Sure, you may run around slower than with a KSP, but… It’s an M16 so. Y’know. That’s sort of what you expect.

” Burst fire tactical rifle. Excellent burst fire accuracy while aiming down sights. Good visibility while firing with a slightly pronounced delay between bursts.”

AUG – Tactical Rifle Charlie

This is a surprising placement for the AUG given it’s usual spot on the Submachine Gun section. However, it’s for good reason. It’s a bit slower than an SMG, but one of the faster Tactical Rifles. It’s a great alternative to the M16 with it’s built-in optic freeing up another attachment slot that might-otherwise be taken up.

” Burst fire tactical rifle. High damage with moderate recoil and slower movement speeds when firing. Built in optic provides 1.5x magnification.”

DMR 14 – Tactical Rifle Delta

The DMR is sort of like the M1 Garand, sort of like the EBR… It’s a semi-automatic rifle that we’ve seen variations of time and time again. It’s the most well-rounded in the group, offering a solid damage output with a good level of recoil and mobility.

Light Machine Guns

Stoner 63 – Light Machine Gun Alpha

The Stoner 63 is a beast of an LMG. It has a great fire rate for a heavier weapon with a good enough accuracy that can be improved with the right attachments. It’s the first LMG you unlock in Black Ops Cold War and well-worth checking out for both Multiplayer and Zombies.

” Full-auto light machine gun. Improved fire rate with a large ammo capacity. Good recoil control and visibility when sustaining fire.

RPD – Light Machine Gun Bravo

Want a Light Machine Gun that keeps the mobility of a heavier Assault Rifle? The RPD is the one for you. Sure, it fires a little slower than the Stoner and has a little more recoil than Assault Rifles, but the improved damage output and naturally larger magazine make it a decent weapon to pick.

M60 – Light Machine Gun Charlie

As you might expect, the M60 is the slowest Light Machine Gun of the trio. However, it does the most damage and provides fantastic “bullet economy” because of this. It has a larger ammo pool, however it’s slower fire rate means you can be caught out in a close-quarters scenario.

” Full-auto light machine gun. Consistent ammo capacity with heavy-grain rounds provides premium stopping power and bullet economy. Slower fire rate and handling speeds.”

Sniper Rifles

Pelington 703 – Sniper Rifle Alpha

The Pelington 703 takes things back to what you want them to be. Bolt-action Sniping. It’s not exactly an Intervention, but the Pelington is a well-rounded Sniper Rifle that does well at a variety of ranges. It doesn’t do the most damage per shot, but it’s increased speed and mobility make it worth picking.

” Bolt-action sniper rifle. Hand loaded with improved handling speeds and faster rechamber. 1-shot kill to the head or chest.”

LW3-Tundra – Sniper Rifle Bravo

The LW3-Tundra is the harder-hitting bolt-action Sniper Rifle of the group. It may have more sway, and be slower, but it’s improved damage range make it all the more effective. Especially in modes like Combined Arms and Fireteam: Dirty Bomb. I can imagine this will make a big impact in Warzone

M82 – Sniper Rifle Charlie

The Barrett .50 Cal is back in a big way. The M82 is a fantastic Sniper Rifle with a high damage output due to it’s semi-auto firing nature. However, the high recoil output means that you’ll need to consider combatting this as best you can with your attachments.

All The Guns In Black Ops Cold War – Secondaries

There is a great range of secondaries available to you in Black Ops Cold War. What’s interesting is that Shotguns are added into this, eliminating the need for Overkill in CoD‘s gone past. Now you can cater to both the close-quarters and long-range gunfights easily.

Pistols

1911 – Pistol Alpha

The Standard Issue is back. The 1911 is a staple in Call of Duty games and Black Ops Cold War is no different. It’s well-balanced and arguably the best of the current Pistol roster in-game. It’s also, when fully upgraded and combined with Deadshot Daquiri, a fantastic pick for Zombies in the later rounds.

Magnum – Pistol Bravo

What would a Call of Duty game be without some kind of Magnum in it. In the absence of a Desert Eagle, or the equivalent, this is the most powerful pistol in the game. It may not have the quickest fire rate, but it packs enough of a punch to make each shot count. It’s just hitting those shots that is the challenge.

Diamatti – Pistol Charlie

Modern Warfare and Warzone players will know the Renetti. This is like that, but more 80s! The Diamatti is the third and final pistol in Black Ops Cold War and it’s burst fire augmentation makes it perfect for quickly dispatching enemies at close ranges.

Shotguns

Hauer 77 – Shotgun Alpha

The Hauer 77 is Black Ops Cold War‘s Pump-Action Shotgun and it does exactly what you’d expect. It has a fairly slow reload speed, being one-shell-at-a-time. However, it deals a fair bit of damage at a good range. Perfect for breaching and, possibly, clearing.

Gallo SA12 – Shotgun Bravo

The Gallo SA12 is the latest variant of the Spaz Shotgun. In some games it’s a pump-action. In others, it isn’t. In Black Ops Cold War, it’s semi-automatic and a hell of a weapon. It’s brilliant in Multiplayer and Zombies, offering high damage output at rapid speeds. Only thing is, it has a one-shell-at-a-time reload speed.

” Semi-auto shotgun. Reliable damage and pellet spread. Heavy recoil and low visibility when sustaining fire.”

Launchers & Specials

Cigma 2 – Launcher Alpha

The Cigma 2 is the first Launcher you unlock in Black Ops Cold War. It’s pretty similar to the PILA in Modern Warfare and Warzone and very good at what it does. It isn’t the most effective against enemy players, but it can take down Spy Planes in one shot and it reloads pretty fast.

” Free-fire rocket launcher. Lock-on capability vs. enemy vehicles. Locked rockets travel faster to their targets and manoeuvre in flight.

RPG-7 – Launcher Bravo

Much like any iteration of the RPG, the RPG-7 in Black Ops Cold War deals a lot of damage a lot of the time. It isn’t the quickest to reload, and does a lot more damage than the Cigma to vehicles. However, it doesn’t lock on so you may miss your target if you’re not careful.

Knife – Melee Alpha

It’s a knife. That’s it.

M79 – Special Alpha

This is a one-shot grenade launcher that is truly devastating. Unlike Modern Warfare and Warzone, you can’t have a grenade launcher equipped to your weapons. So, the M79 is the best option if you want to noob-tube your way through the games.
