Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War PC Beta Requirements Revealed

Updated:

Call of Duty has revealed the system requirements for the upcoming multiplayer beta for Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War coming to PC players on October 15 (Today!!)

Minimum/Recommended PC System Requirements to run PC Cold War Beta

Minimum Specifications

  • OS: Windows 7 64-bit or Windows 10 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i5 2500k or AMD equivalent
  • Video: Nvidia GeForce GTX 670 2GB/ GTX 1650 4GB or AMD Radeon HD 7950
  • RAM: 8GB
  • Storage: 45GB Hard Drive space
  • Network: Broadband internet connection
  • Sound Card: DirectX Compatible (requires DirectX 12 compatible system)

These minimum requirements seem pretty reasonable for most players. Though the 45GB minimum for storage space worries me a little bit, due to the fact that this is strictly a multiplayer beta with much less content than will be available with the full release. Call of Duty Modern Warfare also had a storage size of 45GB, and now the full game no longer fits on a 250GB SSD. Hopefully they are able to avoid the same situation with Cold War as players have been very vocal about their dislike for the massive amounts of storage that Modern Warfare consumes.

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i7 4770k or AMD equivalent
  • Video: Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 4GB/ GTX 1660 Super 6GB or AMD Radeon R9 390/AMD RX 580
  • RAM: 16GB
  • Storage: 45GB Hard Drive space
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Sound Card: DirectX Compatible (requires DirectX 12 compatible system)

The recommended requirements seem to be about what would be expected given the minimum requirements to run the beta on PC. Again, everything seems reasonable until we get to storage. 45GB for the beta is fine, normal even, but I’m just concerned with how much the game will balloon at launch and post-launch. As long as Treyarch can avoid how Sledgehammer handled Modern Warfare, then I don’t think players will have problems with the storage use of Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War.

The Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War beta launches today, October 15, on Xbox/PC and is crossplay enabled between the two platforms. Will you be playing the beta or will the storage size be enough to keep you away until the game launches on November 13? Let us know in the comments down below!
