A cancelled Tomb Raider: 10th Anniversary game from 2006 has been discovered and is now playable to… well, everyone.
If you are a big fan of Tomb Raider: Anniversary or just Tomb Raider in general, like myself, you’ll be happy to hear that a cancelled Tomb Raider game called Tomb Raider: 10th Anniversary that was originally intended for the PSP has been discovered and made playable through the Tomb of Ash website.
The game was cancelled in order to make Tomb Raider: Anniversary instead, which ended up being available on more platforms than if they had gone through with this one instead and released it exclusively on the PSP.

The game was originally developed by Core Designs, which shut down in 2010 and the game was lost for a while until recently. It was also about to be an Indiana Jones game instead through reskinning before it was scrapped altogether.
The instructions on the Tomb of Ash website might take you some time to set up, but it’s definitely worth a try if you’re a fan of the Tomb Raider series. The game can be found on archive.org, and is playable through installing a patch and Visual Studio. As long as you follow the directions precisely, you’ll have the game up and running soon enough.

It’s interesting to note the background of this project as well, as the person who released the game mentioned that they have been looking for a way to release the game ever since they found out it was cancelled. Crystal Dynamics was reached out to in order to gain additional permission to release the game, but they never responded. On the Tomb of Ash website, though, they added that the assets are now considered abandonware and can be playable through archive.org due to being vintage software.
I’m certainly going to check this out for myself and give it a try. You can (almost) never go wrong with a Tomb Raider game.
