Following the review of a mere 20% of the demos available, the CS:GO Spectator Bug Investigation has resulted in ESIC suspending 37 coaches.
CS:GO Spectator Bug Investigation: What Does This Mean?
The bug is essentially a way for CS:GO coaches to cheat. It allowed coaches to become spectators, offering unrestricted movement around the map and the opportunity for near-constant observation on player movements. Although this would affect the whole team, ESIC has been clear to note that there isn’t any way to identify whether the associated team was complicit with the exploitation. Therefore, it is urging fans to avoid speculation.
ESIC bans only reflect a ban in ESIC tournaments, technically, however, they have called for other non-ESIC tournaments to honor these suspensions in an effort to protect the integrity of the CS:GO esports scene.
Although only 20% of the available data has been reviews, ESIC have stated a final report will be issues at the end of October to close the investigation.
