You’re introduced to many peculiar friends and foes throughout the Cyberpunk 2077 story. One of them is Goro Takemura, but we’re not told much about him. So, exactly who is Goro Takemura, and what role does he play in Cyberpunk 2077?
Who is Goro Takemura?
Well, Goro Takemura was the personal bodyguard to Saburo Arasaka until his son Yorinobu murdered him in Konpeki Plaza. This was during the mission The Heist, where V and Jackie steal the relic containing Johnny Silverhand.
After V and Jackie escape Konpeki Plaza, Takemura tracks down V to bring justice after he was accused of assassinating Saburo. Though Takemura is out of luck since Dexter DeShawn had already attempted to kill V to cover his tracks for supplying the job.
Takemura demands Dexter to show him where they hid V’s body. Much to their surprise, you’re alive. It turns out that Dexter DeShawn is really bad at killing people.
Anxious that he may be exposed for killing his father, Yorinobu sends an Arasaka squad to kill both Takemura and V. After recovering from the attack that was sent, Takemura contacts V to discuss how to get revenge. Their plan is to find Yorinobu’s sister, Hanako, to clear their names.
How to Save Goro Takemura in Cyberpunk 2077
During the mission Search and Destroy, an ambush from Arasaka leaves you and Takemura fighting for your lives. The quest will tell you to escape from the ambush which will result in Takemura dying. Rather than escaping, you can instead save him by heading through a small hole in the wall on the left in the room with a blue cross. You’ll then see an optional objective to save Takemura.
In order to unlock all Cyberpunk 2077 endings, you’ll need to save Takemura, so you may as well take the time to do so. There’s not a lot we know about Takemura’s past, he sure is a mysterious character, but that’s everything we currently know about him.
