Holding more items in your inventory will let you build a base more quickly. Today we’re going to show you how to rotate items in DayZ, a key aspect of the games inventory management.

The game has a grid system inventory for both your bag and what you’re carrying on your person that you can use to store items and materials. Knowing how to rotate your items in DayZ means you can use every last slot, and carry more items you need to survive.

The grid like system that makes up your inventory is fixed, so rotating your items is vital to fitting in as much as possible. If you have three horizontal slots available, you can rotate your knife or wrench horizontally to fit into the slot and free up other slots.

To rotate an item in DayZ, press space bar while holding the item. Allowing it to fit neatly into your inventory. Doing this will allow you to arrange your inventory with more extra space. To either fit in an item you want to pick up, or create some free space for items you want to pick up later.

As mentioned earlier in the guide managing your inventory is key in DayZ. From holding important items for healing, weapons for defence or materials for crafting. A part of your inventory is using the different containers available to you as well.

Containers are different places to store your items and materials. These include your bag, shirt, hoodie, jeans, etc. Each will have a different amount of space available so try them.

Use your smaller containers (usually clothing) for items that take less space such as bandages, batteries, and smaller food items.

That’s everything for rotating items in DayZ and making the most of your inventory.
