Choosing the best Survivor perks in Dead By Daylight can be tricky.
The ever-changing meta means that even a few months away from the game can see your original tactics rendered useless, especially given the recent nerfing of Dead Hard and similar so-called “second chance” Perks.
If you’re struggling to counter the Killer meta, here are 10 Survivor perks you should try equipping for your next stint out in the fog.
Deliverance
Adam Francis’s perk Deliverance guarantees a successful self-unhook after safely unhooking a fellow Survivor. It’s an excellent way to scupper the plans of a tunneling Killer who is using Scourge Hook perks.
Not only this, but it ensures that you don’t get punished for your altruism.
Prove Thyself

Prove Thyself, one of Dwight Fairfield’s perks, is useful to counter generator regression perks like Jolt or Hex: Ruin.
You’ll gain a baseline of 15 percent generator repair speed for every fellow Survivor in a four-metre radius. Since performing cooperative actions earns you extra Bloodpoints, Prove Thyself is considered of the best Survivor perks for beginners.
Distortion

Jeff Johansen’s perk Distortion is a great way to disable the Killer’s aura reading abilities. This is especially useful if they use meta perks Nurse’s Calling or Barbecue & Chilli.
Once leveled up to the purple version, Distortion hides your aura from the Killer when it would otherwise be revealed. You will consume a token with each use, which can be gained back by standing in the Killer’s Terror Radius.
Reassurance

If you want to counter a face-camping Killer, equip Rebecca Chambers’ perk Reassurance. This allows you to delay the final hook state of a hooked teammate whilst nearby their hook.
This buys time for another teammate to rescue them whilst you take the Killer for a few laps.
Stack it with the likes of Kinship for the longest final hook stage possible!
Off The Record

One of the best perks to counter tunneling is Off The Record, which hides your aura from the Killer after you are unhooked.
Your grunts of pain will be totally silent, so you will avoid getting downed and re-hooked. Even if you are spotted, base kit Endurance for all unhooked Survivors will give you an extra boost.
Boon: Circle Of Healing

One of the best Survivor perks is Mikaela Reid’s Boon: Circle Of Healing.
Circle Of Healing turns a dull totem into a bubble where Survivors can heal themselves without a medkit. It’s useful to counter injury perks like Thanatophobia.
Adrenaline

Counter late-game Killer perks like Hex: No One Escapes Death or Blood Warden with Meg Thomas’s Adrenaline. It will heal you by one life state after an exit gate is powered.
This is a great way to scupper the plans of a slugging Killer who has left you to bleed out in favour of downing the whole team. It is a solid choice for a comeback perk that they might not expect.
Sprint Burst

Sprint Burst is another base kit perk that has withstood multiple changes to the meta.
The perk will give you a Haste speed bonus when you start running after a period spent walking or crouch-walking.
Despite being offset by a cool-down period of Exhaustion, its utility during those short final chases has made it one of the best Survivor perks in Dead By Daylight.
Poised

To avoid tracking perks such as Thrilling Tremors or Rancor, use Jane Romero’s Poised.
After completing a generator, your scratch marks will be invisible. This is great for evading the Killer when they get too close as you finish a generator, allowing you to scurry behind a tree unseen.
Blast Mine

Jill Valentine‘s Blast Mine counters regression perks such as Overcharge.
Plant a blast mine on any generator after working on it for a while. This highlights it in a yellow aura only visible to other Survivors, and Killers will blind themselves by kicking it.
