Destiny 2: How to Get Suros Regime

Suros Regime

The sound that exotic item makes when it drops into your inventory is like magic. And expanding the exotic collection is the goal of every Destiny 2 player. Suros Regime is a great assault rifle that’s been in the game since Year 1 of Destiny 2 and if you are planning on picking this bad boy up, here’s the complete weapon breakdown as well as how to get it.

Suros Regime Perks and Catalyst

Suros Regime

Suros’s main trait makes your second half of the magazine deal more damage and has a chance to return some health on kill to you. The health part is not that useful but the fact that it will deal more damage aligns perfectly with the weapon perks Suros has:

  • Hammer-Forged Rifling
  • Tactical Mag
  • Spinning Up/Dual Speed Receiver
  • Hand-Laid Stock

Spinning Up. Holding down the trigger increases rate of fire. Combined with the main trait of Suros it creates a perfect killing machine as your magazine will deplete itself quite quickly with the increased rate of fire.

Speed Receiver. When aiming down sights, weapon rate of fire slows while weapon damage increases. This perk kind of transforms the Suros to the DMR when aiming down sights. You don’t need to individually click for each shot but the rate of fire is about as slow. A good damage increase will make Suros very viable on long distance gunfights.

Suros Regime’s catalyst drops randomly as most of the masterworks during your gameplay. To successfully upgrade the catalyst to the masterwork you will need to defeat 300 Crucible enemies. That can feel like quite a grind even though it is Destiny we are talking about. But considering that Suros’s perks make it quite good in PVP it shouldn’t be that tough to get those kills.

When masterworked though your Suros will have a higher chance of triggering health regen on kill. Which is again is not something that you will help you out a lot. But is a nice bonus perk.

Where to Get Suros Regime

Xur and his wares

When it comes to exotic items in Destiny 2 there are two categories of how they can be obtained. Some of the exotics require a specific quest to be completed. It’s usually a long, not that obvious side quest with a bit of grinding. Other exotic are world drops, meaning you can get them randomly from exotic engrams that drop as rewards during gameplay.

Suros belongs to the world drop exotic pool. That means your odds of getting one are not as high as you might have hoped. But there is a shady trader that will help us out. Xur is a trader that appears somewhere in the world of Destiny 2 on the weekends from 12 PM EST on Friday until 12 PM EST on Tuesday.

Xur carries 4 exotic items for sale: one weapon and a piece of armor for each class. Every item can be purchased for 50 legendary shards. There is also an option of buying an exotic engram for 97 legendary shards.

Items for sale change every week as well as the location Xur can be found at. If you don’t feel like tracking him down every week there is a handy website Niris.tv with detailed infographics every week. They will tell you the items for sale this week as well as the location to find Xur. So just make sure to check it every Friday.

Best Way to Get Legendary Shards

Check your vault for unused legendary items

If you are going to get Suros Regime from Xur you will need a few legendary shards. It is always good to have a least a few hundred so you can buy the weapon, armor, and maybe even the engram. So let’s figure out the best way to farm them.

The easiest way is to scrap legendary items you don’t need. Legendary items are a quite common drop so you can get quite a lot of shards just from that. Every scrap will give you 1-3 shards which is not that bad. Make sure that you encrypted all the engrams you own as some don’t give you the drop straight away. In that case, you will need to take the engram to the umbral decoder or the cryptarch.

You can also buy a few shards from the Spider but those aren’t that worthwhile. A bunch of shards is also given out in the battle pass. Almost every 5 tiers you can receive 25 legendary shards without buying the premium pass.
