Dota 2 AniMajor is an Upcoming Anime-themed Major

Valve and WePlay announced an anime-themed Major that is happening in early June. Not only Dota 2 AniMajor is going to be full of fun, but it is also a crucial moment for teams to secure their spot at The International 10.

There are not that many details about the event. Dota 2 AniMajor It is going to be a second major of the Dota Pro Circuit this year with a prize pool of $500,000 and 2,700 Pro Circuit Points at stake. The Major will take place in Kyiv, Ukraine from June 2nd until June 13th with no live audience.

AniMajor follows the last Major’s footsteps and will consist of 18 teams. With each region having a set number of teams that can enter:

  • 4 teams each from Western Europe and China
  • 3 teams each from Eastern Europe and Southeast Asia
  • 2 teams each from North and South America

The competition’s format is Wild Card & Group Stage (Both Round Robin) which will be followed by double-elimination playoffs. As usual, the games are BO3 and the Grand Finals are BO5.

Participating teams are yet to be determined as well, but we do know 3 teams that are already confirmed for the AniMajor. Those teams are Alliance (Western Europe), Virtus.pro (Eastern Europe), and Team Spirit (Eastern Europe)
