European Masters 2020 Spring Play-In has come to an end with GamerLegion, eSuba, Defusekids and K1CK Neosurf qualifying to the Main Event.

EU Masters 2020 Spring Play-In is a group stage format event with 16 teams. These teams are competing on qualifying to the €150.000 prize pool main event of EU Masters 2020 Spring. 4 out of 16 teams managed to qualify after a 3-day clash between them. The teams that conquered were GamerLegion, eSuba, Defusekids and K1CK Neosurf.

GamerLegion qualified for the main event by beating Intrepid Fox with a 2-0 score. GamerLegion was considered one of the favourites; they had one of the strongest squads with Petter “Hjarnan” Freyschuss in the role of Marksman leading them to victory. Freyschuss was among the most experienced players in the Play-Ins while having LCS and Worlds experience.

On the other hand, eSuba, being a newly constructed squad, was a surprise to qualify. The Czechs managed to finish second in the group stage behind GamerLegion. Eventually, they matched with Racoon for the knock-out games and beat them with a 2-1 score.

Third team to qualify was Defusekids. The Dutch squad finished first in the Group C with a 5-1 score, losing only one game to MAD Lions Madrid. In the knock-out stage, they played and won their Beneluxian brothers, Sector One.

Last but not least, K1CK Neosurf managed to upset the brigade of MAD Lions Madrid. The Polish squad was the last of the four to qualify to the main event.

The four teams will have to face teams like Schalke Evolution, Vodafone Giants and Fnatic Rising in the main event.
