Weapons are part of your religion in Fallout 76. Well, okay… There other ways to play Fallout 76, but they’re a pretty big part of things. We all know about the guns, but what about the Melee Weapons?
Fallout 76 has seven Melee Weapons for Vault Dwellers to collect throughout the Appalachia Wasteland. These weapons are listed below:
Commie Whacker, Guitar Sword, Sickleman’s Sickle, Ski Sword, Cultist Dagger, Pickaxe, and Mole Miner Gauntlet.

Below, we’ve compiled where you need to go to find these weapons alongside a little bit of information about each one!
Fallout 76 Melee Weapon Locations
Firstly, here’s one location for the Commie Whacker.
Next, there’s one of the locations for the Sickleman’s Sickle and Guitar Sword.
Next, we have one of the melee weapon locations for the Cultist Dagger and Ski sword.
Then, we have one of the locations for the Pickaxe.
Finally, here’s one of the places where you can find a Mole Miners Gauntlet.
Melee Weapon Stats & Info
Commie Whacker – Tyler County Fairgrounds
The Commie Whacker is a comically large fairground mallet that has the word “Democracy” wrapped around it. It does 5 damage, with 5% extra damage being added per STR Rank.
With a Medium Swing Speed, the Commie Whacker has a range of 10 and an AP cost of 25. It’s Quiet, with a Small Stagger chance.
This melee weapon can also be found on top of the Red Menace Whac-A-Commie games at Camden Park and The Rusty Pick.
Guitar Sword – North Kanawha Lookout
The Guitar Sword is a Guitar Sword. That’s it. It has six blades at the end of it, but the rest is largely what you expect from a guitar ( minus the fretboard). It has four levels of damage increases, 15/ 25/ 35 and 45. These increase the damage from 35 to 40/ 45 and 50 respectively.
It has a Medium Swing speed and an AP cost of 35. It is a musical weapon, thus useful for the One Violent Night public event.
This melee weapon can also be found outside the Pleasant Valley Ski Resort, and at the Top of The World.
Sickleman’s Sickle – North Kanawha Lookout
The Sickleman’s Sickle is a one-handed Sickle, much like you would expect to see farmers use to harvest wheat. It does 28 damage.
It has a Medium Swing speed, and contextually a short range.
This weapon can also be found on the ground floor of the WV Lumber Co., and with Willie Mae’s body in Flatwoods. Some Scorched also carry them.
Ski Sword – Sunnytop Ski Lanes Base Lodge
The Ski Sword is an aptly-named sword constructed from a Ski. It has four levels of damage increases at 15/ 25/ 35 and 45. This increases the damage to 35/ 40/ 45 and 50 respectively.
With a Medium Swing Speed, the Ski Sword’s optional upgrade modifications make it the second best melee weapon in the game. It can be upgraded to have the modifications Metal Shards with the components: Adhesive ( x1), Aluminium ( x2), and Steel ( x6).
This weapon can also be found around the Top of the World, and east of Tygart Water Treatment.
Cultist Dagger – North Mountain Lookout
The Cultist Dagger is one of the most lethal melee weapons in Fallout 76. It appears to have a hilt made from a broken piece of human jaw bone, with a blade of crudely sharpened metal.
With a Fast Swing Speed and a weight under 1, it has the highest damage-to-weight ratio in the game. There are also extremely rare modified variants available in Government Air Drops.
This melee weapon can also be found inside the Lucky Hole Mine, the sunken church south-east of Raleigh Clay’s Bunker, and at the cult altar south of Hornwright Testing Site 2.
Pickaxe – Tygart Water Treatment
This is a two-handed pickaxe, with relatively decent damage and Slow Swing Speed. It’s pretty common, as pickaxes go, but can be modified to apply a bleed effect.
The Pickaxe has five levels that increase damage: 5/ 15/ 25/ 35 and 45. This increases the damage output from 35 to 40/ 45/ 50 and 55 respectively.
This melee weapon can also be found in the Gauley Mine, in Greg’s Mine Supply, and is sometimes wielded by Scorched.
Mole Miner Gauntlet – Big Bend Tunnel West
The Mole Miner Gauntlet is simple, yet effective. It is made up of a simple handhold, with two blades on the front of the handguard. It can be upgraded with a bladed mod to add bleeding and extra damage, which visually adds a third blade.
This melee weapon has four combat levels that increase damage, 20/ 30/ 40 and 50. This increases the melee damage to 30/ 35/ 40 and 45 respectively. It also has a Medium Swing Speed.
This melee weapon can be found in the Garrahan Mining Headquarters and might also be dropped by Mole Miners.
