Fnatic Wipe X10 Esports Out of Masters: Reykjavík

Published:

Fnatic manage to continue their Lower Bracket run at Masters Reykjavík for another day, with a staple 2-0 victory against X10 Esports.

The European team stuck to their fundamentals and picked Icebox to start off the series. Their confidence would be rewarded, as the Europeans employed the same agent composition they have been using since the beginning of the tournament to great effect.

An 8-4 by the half-time mark would be reinvigorated by a flawless second half: a 13-4 and the first of Fnatic in Masters: Reykjavík where the Europeans won both pistol rounds.

With the map pick on their favour, X10 Esports got Patiphan “Patiphan” Chaiwong back in the Viper and kicked off to a great start, securing the pistol round and the first three rounds of the map.

However, their fire would soon extinguish, as Fnatic would streak nine rounds in a row to close out the half.

The forces of Jake “Boaster” Howlett wouldn’t score the second pistol round either, with X10 Esports finally getting the opportunity to showcase some of their true potential.

At 10-7, in a bold move worthy of the “Battle Sage” mantra, Domagoj “Doma” Fancev pushed a smoke and scored a double-kill to get the first round of Fnatic’s defence. Right after that, he would come in clutch again to take them to map-point.

X10 Esports was starting to assemble a comeback when Fnatic stopped them right at the door of double digits. A 13-9 loss put an end to X10’s presence in Masters: Reykjavík.

On the road to the Lower Bracket Finals of Masters: Reykjavík, Fnatic will now meet up against Version1, following their defeat against NUTURN earlier today.
