There are four different types of chests in Genshin Impact, Common, Exquisite, Precious, and Luxurious. The amount in them ranges from 2 primos, all the way up to 40 per chest you open.

There is also 32 Luxurious chest currently scattered around Teyvat, so once you find all of them that will give you 1280 primogems. You can also use that link to help you find the other types of chests to increase the number of primogems you have.

Also noted on the map are the locations of all waypoints/ Statute of the Sevens where you also gain primos from finding the location of all points on the map, this will also make travelling around much faster when questing and co-oping.

How to earn primos from events, dailies and questing

Every other week it seems like MiHoYo is dropping fun and exciting events, for players to play solo or with friends, they tend to last for a week or two long and have players grinding up fun mini-games to turn in for tons of in-game rewards like upgrade materials or Primos!

As long as you complete all of the event objectives the game rewards with hundreds of primos.

Daily commissions are one of the steadiest ways to earn primos, gaining 10 per completed daily and then an additional 20 for turning in the dailies to Kathern will leave you with 420 primos a week towards your next banner pull.

All of the main story quests will allot players primos for completing main checkpoints in the game, as well as a lot of difficult or tedious side quests also will reward players for completing the quests. Then you can also go turn in to collect even more from the Reputation board in both major cities.

How to get Primogems from hangouts

One of the simplest ways to gain primogems is to just play through the 4 current Hangouts, and play through till you gain all endings. This rewards system helps players learn more about characters that they might not have known much about beforehand and reward players for completing all endings.

How to earn Primogems from Genshin Impact updates and bug fixes

During every big patch, the game goes down for maintenance, which means the players cant spend their time grinding the game, or playing with friends, that being said MiHoYo knows this time can be frustrating or saddening for most players.

MiHoYo understands this, and will give players free primo gems for any inconveniences the downtime might cause, as well as if any bugs that are reported are fixed, and have had a negative impact on the game then will reward players with primogems when they find the fix for the bug, so check your mail frequently!

How to claim Primogems from the Genshin Impact battle pass

Completing daily, weekly and monthly tasks, are key to earing your way up the battle pass. reaching certain milestones in the battle pass will reward players with the ability to earn free primogems and or pulls for characters.
