Genshin Impact: Luhua Landscape Quest Guide

Luhua Landscape

Traveling the world of Teyvat gets you to meet many different people. This story is about a painter whose will to paint a pretty landscape helped solve a mystery of an ancient ruin. Here’s how to complete a Luhua Landscape world quest in Genshin Impact.

Meeting the Travelling Painter

Vermeer’s location

In Luhua Pool right by the pretty water baths, you will find two mighty statues. In front of the statues, a Geo monument and a lonely traveler are examining it. That guy’s name is Vermeer and he is a traveling painter and he just might need a bit of help from you.

Vermeer will tell you that he wanted to paint a few pictures of Luhua Pool to take home with him but couldn’t find a good angle. And in addition to that while he was looking for the right angle he lost his paintbrushes and paints. A good thing is that he made a few draft paintings when searching for angles so logically speaking his tools are exactly where he made those drafts.

The painter will give you two sketches to use as a reference. One is painted in color, the other in black and white. You have to find the spot the sketch was painted from, same scenery, same angle.

Viewing Spots

Now let’s find those viewing spots. Both spots will have adventuring bags and books around to make them easier to spot. And once you come close a small flickering light will highlight the spot to observe the view from. Somewhere near there will be an investigation spot marked by the hovering yellow arrow, that’s Vermeer’s tools.

Black and White

The black and white are quite easy to find. Use the nearest waypoint to the right from the Luhua Pool and then have a small walk north-west. From there you will find the spot for the black and white sketch. If you look at the image above, right behind the Traveler there will be a marked location with Vermeer’s paintbrushes. do not forget to collect it.

Color

The second location is also easy to find. Use the waypoint on the east side of the Luhua Pool and walk a bit north. There you will find a box of brushes, a landscape view and a viewpoint to add to your collection.

After that’s done, head back to Vermeer to give back his tools.

Looking for the Eye

Vermeer says that he heard stories about the statues having eyes that glow in the dark and you can see them from afar. Sounds like a perfect moment to paint and memorize. But the statue doesn’t seem to have those glowing eyes. Coincidentally he found something in the pond that resembles an eye called “Strange Stone”. But there are two statues, you have to find another eye…

The game doesn’t really tell you where to look for another eye and you are left to deal with the issue on your own. The solution is way easier than you might expect. Since the first one was found in the pond, what if the second one is in the pond as well?

There are a few locations across the ponds that are marked with an arrow, some will have hilichurls around. I found it in the one that’s nearest to the Vermeer and the statues. The locations could be randomized so take a good look around.

Fixing the Statues

Eye inserted in the statue

Now that you got both eyes, it’s time to put them back into place. Climb both of the statues and insert a stone in each’s head. With the stones in their place, the Geo monument will unlock. Vermeer is now happy and will head off to paint those statues leaving you and the monument.

The Geo monument needs to be hit by the Geo element. Any Geo attack/skill/burst will turn it on. Then you will have a Time Challenge to complete. You need to defeat three enemies in 90 seconds. You will be battling:

  • Pyro Abyss Mage
  • Cryo Abyss Mage
  • Hydro Abyss Mage

Hydro and Cryo mages have a tendency of being annoying together by freezing you. Avoid their attacks and use the opposite elements to break their shields. For Pyro it’s Hydro, for Cryo it’s Pyro, and for Hydro it’s Cryo. The best free-to-play characters for this are Kaeya, Barbara and Xiangling use those or any other ones wielding the right element.

Quest Rewards

Once dead, the ruin gates will open. You will find a Luxurious chest in the middle and Exquisite chests behind the spider webs. Spider webs can be destroyed but careful, spiders bite. This ruin is also a good place to find extra Cor Lapis if you ever need some. Completion of the Luhua Landscape world quest in Genshin Impact will also grant you:

  • Primogems: x50
  • Hero’s Wit: x2
  • Mora: x30,000
