Genshin Impact: Xiangling Character Guide

Updated:

Genshin Impact is a game with a lot of playable characters, this Xiangling Guide should help you decide if she is the right one for your team. Below is everything you need to know about this Head Chef!

In Genshin Impact, you need a team to take on everything Teyvat throws at you. Through the Prologue Chapter, Archon Quest, players gain access to a starter team. However, with elemental attacks a huge focus in combat, you might be looking to change up your team composition. But, what if you need a hand deciding?

This guide will have everything you need to know about Xiangling, one of the unlockable playable characters in Genshin Impact.

In the world of Genshin Impact, Xiangling is the Head Chef of the Wanmin Restaurant and runs it alongside her father, Chef Mao. She’s experimental and strongly believes that “ good food is good food”, despite the cultural debate between the Li and Yue styles of cooking. As a playable character, she wields a Polearm as a weapon and utilises the Pyro Element.

Xiangling’s titles include Exquisite Delicacy and Chef de Cuisine, two titles which both highlight her talents and passion for cooking. Xiangling is as adventurous in her cooking as she is in life; however, she never gives up because “ there are many secrets to cooking, the most important of which is passion”.

Below, we’ve included the official character description of Xiangling:

“ The Head Chef at the Wanmin Restaurant and also a waitress there, Xiangling is extremely passionate about cooking and excels at her signature hot and spicy dishes. Though still young, Xiangling is a true master of the culinary arts with all the skills of a kitchen veteran. She enjoys a good reputation among the hearty eaters at Chihu Rock. There’s absolutely no need to be nervous if she wants you to sample her latest creation. It will not disappoint. Promise.”

Genshin Impact Xiangling Character Guide

First things first, this Genshin Impact Klee Character Guide is going to discuss Xiangling’s Talents. These are the attacks and buffs that are unique to Xiangling.

Following from this, we’re going to cover Xiangling’s Constellation, her base stats, and then finally her Ascension Requirements. This Xiangling Character Guide aims to be an easy-to-access information dump for all the basics you’d need if you want to add her to your Genshin Impact team. Therefore, below that I’ll add a couple comments about things like Team Composition and the Strengths and Weaknesses Xiangling has.

Xiangling’s Talents

Dough-Fu – Normal/ Charged Attack

Dough-Fu Is Xiangling’s Normal/ Charged Attack. During this, Xiangling performs basic attacks with her Polearm.

Normally, she can perform up to 5 consecutive Polearm strikes. As a Charged Attack, Xiangling consumes Stamina to lunge forward in an attack that deals damage to all enemies she hits along the way.

Guoba Attack – Elemental Skill

This is Xiangling’s Elemental Skill. Through this, she summons Guoba the Panda to attack enemies. He deals Pyro AoE DMG by breathing fire every 1.5s for 6s.

Pyronado – Elemental Burst

This is Xiangling’s Elemental Burst. In a display of her mastery, Xiangling summons a Pyronado to swirl around her. It moves with you for the duration of the ability and deals Pyro DMG to everyone in its path.

Crossfire – Passive Talent 1

This increases the range of Guoba Attack’s flames by 20%. Go Guoba!

Beware, It’s Super Hot! – Passive Talent 2

When Guoba Attack ends, Guoba leaves a Chili Pepper in place. Picking this up will increase ATK by 10% for 10s.

Chef de Cuisine – Passive Talent 3

When Xiangling gets Perfect Cooking on an ATK-boosting dish, she has a 12% chance of receiving double the product.

Xiangling’s Constellation

Thoughts On Xiangling?

Xiangling is a bit of a mixed bag. She has middling stats across the board, with nothing massively standing out. However, her DEF stats are a little higher than average compared to her ATK stats. This makes her tankier than other Genshin Impact characters that are similar.

As long as you can stay alive, Pyronado makes Xiangling a fantastic initiator and/or fighter. When improved, Pyronado can last quite a while thanks to Slowbake and can be used while Xiangling moves.

Constellation Level 6, Condensed Pyronado, offers all party members a 15% Pyro DMG Bonus for the Duration of Pyronado. This makes her the perfect addition to any Pyro-focused teams.

She is also useful when cooking thanks to Chef de Cuisine, which gives her a 12% chance of receiving double the product for ATK-boosting dishes.

Xiangling is a must-have addition to any Pyro-focused team, but would be less effective when facing an opponent with high Pyro RES. She does however have Dough-Fu, so she isn’t completely useless.
