The announcement for the new dates was made via a blog post on the Rockstar Games website, released on Tuesday morning.

It is unclear what kind of enhancements this new version of GTA V will have compared to its current, gen counterpart. However, Rockstar teased that the game will take advantage of the new hardware powering the latest consoles and players will notice significant improvements.

“The new generation versions of GTAV will feature a range of technical improvements, visual upgrades and performance enhancements to take full advantage of the latest hardware, making the game more beautiful and more responsive than ever,” Rockstar said. No screenshots or media showing off the new improvements have been revealed yet.

Additionally, the standalone version of GTA Online will be on both consoles but will be free for PS+ for PS5 users for the first three months. There will also be special rewards in GTA Online, until the next gen version comes out, that are exclusive to PlayStation players.

There was also a small tease that Rockstar will celebrate the 20th anniversary of GTA III in some way later this year. The celebration will probably stay to GTA Online, but rumors have been circulating about a remaster or remake of some kind. However, that is probably not the case.

It was announced all the way back in June of last year, during Sony’s Future of Gaming Event, that GTA V and GTA Online will be officially coming to the Xbox Series X/S and PS5. With the new release dates set, fans will be able to play through GTA V once again on a new console in November.
