Last month it was announced that Mixer was shutting down and was being acquired by Facebook Gaming. This has left a lot of creators without a platform to stream on. In 2019, Ninja signed a rumored $30 million contract to stream on Mixer, but with the closure of Mixer he is now a free agent to move to another platform. There has been much speculation as to where Ninja was going to go. Was he going to go back to Twitch, where has already has 14 million followers, or go to YouTube where his channel has a huge 22 million subscribers?

Earlier today, a lives tream was scheduled on Ninja’s channel simply called “Test”. This stream was shortly deleted, but it could hint that Ninja is intending to move to YouTube. It would appear that he, or his team, were getting his channel set up to stream and accidentally scheduled a stream.

Ninja fans are eagerly awaiting an announcement this week regarding his future. Ninja’s wife Jess tweeted recently saying: “You’ve all been patient, this week is going to be fun.” this definitely points to the future of Ninja’s streaming career being announced.

It has been well documented that Ninja didn’t leave Twitch on the best terms, with some bad blood left between the two. That’s why his moving to YouTube isn’t too surprising.

After Ninja’s move to Mixer, the top streaming platforms all made efforts to secure top streamers to their platforms. Twitch signed the likes of Dr Disrespect (who has now been banned), Nick Merc, TimTheTatMan and Dr Lupo, while YouTube signed top Twitch streamer CourageJD, as well as many of the popular Australian Fortnite creators such as Lachlan, Muselk and Lazarbeam.

Until the official announcement, this is all speculation, but all signs are pointing to a future on YouTube for Ninja.
