Here’s a random factoid for you that proves I spend way too much time Googling pointless things at 1am: you could fit the entire libraries of the NES, SNES, Gameboy/Color, N64 and Gameboy Advance on a single Nintendo Switch cartridge twice.
Using Emu Paradise as a source, Reddit user u/RHYTHM_GMZ listed the size of each Nintendo library up until the Wii. This post was over 4 years ago when the Wii U still had games being released for it, so the info doesn’t go beyond that. The library sizes are as followed:
- NES Library – 237 Mb
- SNES Library -1.7 Gb
- N64 Library – 5.5 Gb
- GB/GBC Library – 568 Mb
- GBA Library – 8.4 Gb
- NDS Library – 83.2 Gb
- Gamecube Library – 867 Gb
- Wii Library – 6.56 Tb
Calculating the size of the NES to GBA libraries, it would take 16.4 Gb to store. A Nintendo Switch cartridge is 32gb, so the entire libraries could fit on a single cartridge almost twice. It would also take 3 cartridges to store the entire Nintendo DS library, 28 for the Gamecube and 205 for the Wii library.

These figures may be off a bit due to compression, and they’re also for the NTSC region, but in the unlikely event that someone ever asks you whether you think a Nintendo library would fit on a Nintendo Switch cartridge, now you know.
