1. Navigate to the Main Menu of the game.

2. Click on the social icon located in the upper right corner, right from your rank icon. Alternatively, you can press the F2 on your keyboard.
3. Open the Friends menu.

4. Select the Add Friends option, after which you’ll need to enter the Activision ID of your friend. If you play Modern Warfare 2 on Steam, you can also “import” your Steam friends who play this game by using the Search in Steam Friends option.
