How To Bypass IP Ban In Minecraft

Updated:

At some point, each one of us got banned on a Minecraft server for one reason or another. If a Minecraft server banned you through your IP there is a high chance that you can bypass the ban and keep playing on the server.

You can bypass the IP ban on a Minecraft server using a reliable VPN service. However, if you got your account banned (which you will find out if the VPN won’t help), then you will need to get a new Minecraft account and ideally use a VPN as well in case the server keeps the IP addresses of banned players.

How to Bypass IP Ban With Dynamic IP

If your router has a dynamic IP, you will be able to bypass the ban by simply waiting or playing with the router’s settings. Dynamic IP means that every set period of time your IP will be changed. And then the IP that got you banned will be replaced with a new one that is not banned.

Finding out whether your router has dynamic IP or not varies on the router so we recommend doing some of your own research. The most common way is to access the router’s settings by typing your current IP in the URL bar in the browser. It will then ask you for your login and password to access the dashboard where you will find the info you need.

How to Bypass IP Ban With Static IP

With a static IP, things get complex. You will need to change your IP through a VPN service. Free VPNs usually don’t work and get detected by the game. They might be worth trying out but don’t expect any miracles. This is why we recommend NordVPN as it’s simple to use, affordable, and reliable.

To use NordVPN to bypass the IP ban in Minecraft:

  • Download and install NordVPN
  • Open the app
  • Create an account and choose the billing format
  • Choose the country and connect to it
  • At the top check that your VPN IP address is different from your own
  • Launch Minecraft and connect to the server

Note that you will need to have VPN turned on for the entirety of your gaming session which may affect your internet speed. To ensure stable gameplay connect to the VPN server closest to you.

And if this doesn’t work and you still can’t get onto the server it is likely that they banned not your IP but your account. The only solution to keep playing on the server is by getting a new Minecraft account and using it to play.

Along with the new account we would still recommend using VPN to play on the server. As it is likely that when you got banned the first time they saved your IP. And if you log in from the same IP even with a different account you have a higher chance of getting slammed with the ban hammer again. That only applies to routers with a static IP.
