Osteo Striga is probably the coolest name for a gun in the whole of Destiny. However, it created quite a confusion when this pre-order bonus was nowhere to be found. If you pre-ordered Destiny 2: The Witch Queen and can’t find your Osteo Striga we are about to explain how to get it.
First and foremost, Osteo Striga is a pre-order exclusive for Destiny 2: The Witch Queen Digital Deluxe Edition. If you haven’t pre-ordered this edition, you will not be able to obtain the weapon until the next season.
Where to Get Osteo Striga
To obtain Osteo Striga you have to complete the whole Witch Queen campaign first. As soon as you do that, head to The Enclave and craft the SMG the way you would craft any other weapon. Osteo Striga doesn’t have any variety at first and has the following traits:
- Screaming Swarm: Fires a stream of sentient, toxic projecticles that track the targeted enemy
- Polygonal Rifling: Increases stability
- Steady Rounds: Greatly increases stability. Slightly decreases range
- Toxic Overload: Landing a final blowor multiple precision hits triggers a burst that poisons nearby targets
- Hand-Laid Stock: Increases stability
As you may have noticed, the weapon’s perks are focused on increasing stability and recoil control. Other options will allow you to switch stability in favor of handling for example but the majority will still be revolving around stability.
Osteo Striga Catalyst
Alongside new perks, while leveling Osteo Striga you can unlock its catalyst. Instead of dropping randomly in the world to get a catalyst for Osteo Striga you need to reach its Level 10. Catalyst greatly increases reload speed and adds the following effect: Poison final blows return ammo to the magazine. With catalyst installed, Osteo Striga transforms into an unstoppable spray and pray machine which is always fun.
To install the catalyst you will need the following resources:
- Ascendant Alloy: 3
- Ruinous Element: 140
- Neutral Element: 2,000
Most of them are easy to obtain except for the Ascendant Alloy which is along with the same value as Ascendant Shard. It can be bought from Banshee-44 or Rahool for 400 legendary shards each or earned from certain activities. So, make sure to stack up on the shards and resources for future crafts.
How to Get Osteo Striga Ornament?
If you already crafted your Osteo Striga you might be wondering where is the ornament that was supposed to come with the pre-order? Usually, most of the pre-order bonuses can be collected from Rahool at the Tower but not this ornament.
The ornament is most likely in your collection already. Go to your Osteo Striga and check available ornaments. That’s where I found mine. There will be no indication that you acquired the ornament at any point. It will be like you always owned it.
