Apart from ranks, agent progression, and Battle Passes, Valorant also has an account progression. Progression is displayed through the level system that you might have noticed on player cards. Flexing with your level is cool but what if you don’t want to? Even though it’s not that obvious, it’s very easy to hide the level from your player card. This is a quick guide on how to hide level in Valorant.

What Does Your Account Level Mean?

First and foremost, your level is not connected in any way to your MMR and Valorant’s ranking system in general. And it is also not connected to any Battle Pass and Agent Contract progression that require XP.

Account level reflects the amount of time a player spent in Valorant, not their actual skill level. You probably have wondered why you are being matched with a level 100+ player while you are level 40, this is why. As we all know, time invested is not a guarantee of high skill and the other way around.

Valorant account’s level is increased by earning AP (Account Points). Each level requires 5,000 AP to level up and can be earned from:

  • First win of the day (1,000 AP)
  • Playing matches (amount of AP depends on the length and results of the match)

The benefits of having a high level? Once you reach level 20 you get access to the Competitive play. But other than that there are none, really. The only reward you are getting for reaching higher levels is the level border that you can display on your banner. There are 25 borders total. You unlock a new border every 20 levels from level 0 to 500, and you can choose which one you’d like to display.

How to Hide Your Level

By default, your level will be displayed on your banner during games. But if you decided to hide from everyone the fact that you don’t have a life and hide your Valorant’s account level, bear with me. It’s not an obvious thing to turn off as it is not in any in-game privacy settings or main menus.

To hide your Valorant level head to your Collection. This is where all your skins, sprays, and banners can be set up. Click on your player card to enter the player card customization menu. Switch to the level borders tab. This is also where you can check what borders you currently have unlocked and change them.

Level border customization

Above all the borders there is a checkbox: “Show my account level on my player card”. This is the setting you should use if you want to hide or show your level in Valorant from other players. And there you go, now you know how to hide your level in Valorant. You won’t have to explain to your teammates why you, a level 40, are playing on Platinum ranks.
