Forza Horizon 4 is the ultimate racing experience for both you and your friends. And even though there is no split screen in Forza Horizon 4 you can play with friends online and here’s how.
There are multiple ways to initiate a session or a race with your friends but all of them revolve around using a lobby system in Forza Horizon 4 called the Horizon Convoy.
Invite Friends Through the Horizon Convoy
The main way to play and drive around with friends is by using the Horizon Convoy feature which simply is a co-op lobby. Before starting a convoy though, make sure to add your friends on the Xbox app.
That can be done either through the Xbox website, Xbox software that can be downloaded from Microsoft Store, or Xbox Game Bar overlay (Win+G on PC and Xbox button on console).
After that, in the menu of the game, you can either press a keybind (that shows at the bottom) or head to the “Invite Friends” menu on the home page.
There you will be able to see your convoy and manage it by adding new players, removing unwanted ones, and delegating the convoy leader role should you choose to do so. The convoy leader is the only member of the convoy that can initiate races and events for the whole group.
Invite Friends Through the Xbox Game Bar (PC)
Alternatively, you can invite your friends or join their game without needing an invite through the Xbox Game Bar overlay. It is a very useful and easy-to-use feature since you will need to have your friends in your Xbox App friend’s list.
To use the Xbox Game Bar press Win+G or the Xbox button if you are using a controller. Then navigate to your friend’s list, find your friend’s Gamertag, and right-click on it. Then you can either invite them to your session or join theirs.

Now that you’ve added your friends and started a convoy you can play and explore the roads of Britain in Forza Horizon 4 together and admire how beautiful this world is. Maybe even take a few pictures.
There are quite a few things that you and your convoy can do. There are regular co-op events, and online multiplayer adventures or you can even start your own private adventure. As for the convoys looking for a challenge, there are races like the Goliath that will test your focus and endurance.
Remember that only the convoy leader is the only one who can start activities for the group. And if you are the leader, assign the role to someone else through the convoy management menu before closing the game.
