How to Pull Out Pistol in Modern Warfare 2

Published:

Modern Warfare 2 2022 brought us a feature that will allow you to use your secondary pistol whilst having a primary weapon in hand. And today we’re going to be going over how to pull out your pistol in Modern Warfare 2.

The only way for you to pull this off is to have the appropriate rear grip attachment for your secondary pistol. With it, you will quickly switch to your pistol whilst still having your primary by your side. By ‘quickly’ we mean almost instant speeds that you could never pull off by normally switching weapons.

Pistol Fastdraw Attachments in Modern Warfare 2

Each pistol will have different rear grip attachments across the board. But, if you want to be able to quickly draw your pistol, your pistols will need to have a custom rear grip with the “Pistol Fastdraw” tag on it. However, the name of these rear grips isn’t the same on every pistol.

In an effort to make the entire process easier for you, we’ve compiled a list of every pistol and their respective fastdraw rear grips:

  • X12 & X13 – Cronen Lima 6
  • P890 – Bruen RSH-80 Grip
  • GS .50 – GS .50 Wood Grain
  • Basilisk – SO RO-99 Grip

Should You Use Fastdraw Attachments in Modern Warfare 2?

Modern Warfare 2 came out recently, which means that we don’t really have thoroughly tested information surrounding its newer additions and mechanics. Still, an attachment like this should influence your game in a positive way. Especially because of how fast you can switch to your pistol with it.

At the end of the day, this all boils down to what you want out of your pistol. The Gunsmith gives you a plethora of options to choose from when it comes to attachments, and you can mold your pistol into whatever playstyle suits you.

Pistol Fastdraw will not only let you draw your pistol quickly but also improve your Sprint to Fire and Aim Down Sight speed. This is important to keep in mind if you’re attempting to build a gun for more aggressive playstyles. The only real downside would be the reduced recoil control, which is a deal breaker for some people.

Pistol Fastdraw Firing Range Bug

Modern Warfare 2 players have encountered a lot of bugs and glitches so far, and one of the more prominent bugs is related to the firing range. For some odd reason, you’re not able to perform the pistol fast swap mechanic in the firing range.

Even if you have the proper rear grip unlocked, it simply won’t trigger the animation if you switch weapons.

This will get fixed soon, but you’re unfortunately going to have to do your own personal testing in public matches.

Out of all of the new mechanics that Activision brought to the table with this Call of Duty, fast-swapping is definitely among the best. Even if these newer additions don’t interest you that much, knowing how to pull out your pistol in Modern Warfare 2 will eventually come in handy.
