Cars all around Night City are getting stolen left and right. There isn’t a time when you won’t feel the need to steal one, but can you save the cars you steal in Cyberpunk 2077? That’s a question we’ll be answering below.

Stealing cars that are parked or driving around Night City is a necessity in the earlier parts of the game. You can’t save a stolen car as your own in Cyberpunk 2077. The car you stole will eventually disappear after you’ve abandoned it.

How to Buy Cars in Cyberpunk 2077

Cars off of the street can’t be enlisted into your roster of personal vehicles, and there’s no method or glitch that will allow you to do that, unfortunately. The only thing that you can do in order to store or keep a personal car is to buy a car from one of the many ‘fixers‘ around night city.

A fixer will usually supply you with side gigs that you can do for some extra cash. What fixers also offer is a list of vehicles for purchase via text. There are around 10 fixers in night city, and each of them will contact you with news about different types of purchasable cars as the story progresses.

Upon purchasing a vehicle that your fixer informed you of, you’ll be able to summon that vehicle whenever you need it. It will be permanently registered as your personal car. This is the best, and most consistent way to save cars in Cyberpunk 2077.

How to Get Free Cars in Cyberpunk 2077

Other than purchasing them, the only other way to get cars in Cyberpunk 2077 is via specific missions or gigs. There are many free cars for you to earn in night city, and they’re usually tied to important gigs or miscellaneous questlines.

The most notable example would Johnny Silverhand’s old Porsche 911 Turbo, but you can also get the fastest car in the game for free. Johnny’s 911 in particular is given to you during the quest ‘Chippin’ In‘, that is if you pick the right dialogue option. That’s just one of many free cars that you can take ownership of.

By far the easiest car that you can get for free is the Colby CX410 Butte, which is located near a film set in the Badlands. This film set is located north-east of the Rocky Ridge town in the western part of the Badlands. All you have to do is go to the location and get into the CX410 in order to save the car permanently.

Tips on Stealing Cars in Cyberpunk 2077

Even though you now know how to save cars in Cyberpunk 2022, some people will still prefer to steal random cars from the street. And if you like stealing them more than you like having your own, then you need to keep a few things in mind.

Some cars on the streets of night city aren’t that easy to break into, and you’ll need points in the ‘technology‘ attribute if you want to get into empty parked cars. The amount of points required varies depending on the type of car you’re trying to break into.

If you want to steal a car that’s occupied by someone else, then you’ll need to invest your points into the ‘body‘ attribute. Once again, the rarer and more special the car – the more ‘body’ attribute points you need to throw the owner out of it.

Although we prefer the original vehicle storage system, stealing is never a bad thing, especially if you can’t afford a car yet. Inflation has hit all-time highs in night city. Now with all of that being said, we hope you’ll now know what to do when handling cars in Cyberpunk 2077.

The most legendary pistol in Cyberpunk 2077 has to be Johnny’s notorious firearm, which is why we’ve made a guide on how to get Johnny’s Pistol.
