Upgrading your vehicles can bring endless fun to Forza Horizon 4. Not only is upgrading your vehicles fun, but you can also squeeze out extra performance from them. This guide will walk you through how to upgrade cars in Forza Horizon 4.

How To Upgrade Your Car

Acceleration and Launch decline with RWD, while Handling and Breaking increase.

To upgrade your car you will need to find your way to your garage at the Festival Site. You can fast travel there by opening your menu, navigating to the cars tab, and selecting go to festival.

Once you’re there go to your garage and select upgrades and tuning.

From this menu, you will be able to apply upgrades from scratch to your car or find and apply upgrades from other Forza Horizon 4 players.

When upgrading your car you will be able to make changes to every aspect of the vehicle. Everything from engine swapping to what material your tires are using. You can very easily spend countless hours messing around with the different options and testing them in races.

The vehicles speed, handling, acceleration, launch, and braking stats will be displayed on the left. Before applying a specific modification you will see an indicator to see what stats it will affect and by how much. Green indicates that stat will increase, and red indicates it will decrease.

Why have a fast car that doesn’t also look the part?

Forza Horizon 4 also allows you to change the cosmetics of your car. From entire body kits to simply changing the paint.

You can make cosmetic changes in the Design and Paints menu from your garage. You can use designs from other players, create your own designs or simply change the paint color.

If you’re wanting to add a body kit to your vehicle, that’s done in the same menu as performance mods. And you won’t be able to add a body kit to every vehicle.
