Interview with paiN brTT: “We want to make history for Brazil”

Updated:

At MSI 2021 we had the opportunity and the pleasure to interview brTT, ADC for paIN Gaming. From how he prepares for the international stage to today’s matches at MSI, brTT explains to us what he sees in his future in the Brazillian league.

Written below is the transcript of brTT’s interview. Bold font goes for the media’s questions and standard font signals paIN Gaming’s brTT’s answers.

You are a legend in the Brazilian and international scene, how do you manage to maintain the level of play and mindset of a champion?

I don’t know, I think I just love it so much, this competition. Sometimes I actually get tired of playing Solo Q and this kind of stuff so I focus on working on my mind like, I try to feel good and I try to do other things like boxing, gym, and other things outside of League of Legends so I can go for the next day of scrims with full focus. I just try to do my best to stay focus on the scrim times because I don’t enjoy playing Solo Q anymore

You do speak like a true champion, a healthy mind in a healthy body. After all this experience in the international field and local, do you think after your career as a player you’ll get into coaching for the younger talents for your region?

Like for sure it would help a lot the scene of League of Legends in Brazil, because of my experience, but I don’t know if I want that. After so many years of playing League of Legends, maybe I want to try out new things when I stop playing. It’s kind of hard, I’ll need to see.

Being a player of your level, with what mentality you approached what was, unfortunately, your last game at MSI for this year?

I didn’t have the mental at all to play the last game, because I had a really good feeling about this tournament, that we could do better and finally make history for Brazil. But after the losses, I kinda lost my mind and focus at all because I don’t know how many years I have left to prove that Brazil can do good. We were close, we had close games and when we lost the dream finished I was kind of lost in “what are we going to do now?”. I played, like, automatically the last game, but our team didn’t want to lose to Turkey so we did our best.

I think that internationally speaking you got closer to your dream as more people now know you and the scene you come from and want to follow you.
What do you think was the toughest team you played against here at MSI and who do you think has the most potential among your opponents?

I think PSG, I think they are the best team in this group for sure. They know how to control the game really well, they have really strong laning phases: bot, mid, top, and jungle and they really know how to control the game well when team fighting. They can get some games against really strong teams in the next stage.

What is the best memory of this MSI you’ll bring back with you in Brazil?

The only thing that I want to say is that I will remember the MSI that I played with these teammates, I really liked the players, they are all my friends and we enjoyed so much playing together. The best memories are the players, my teammates, the coaching staff, and everyone that played this MSI with me.

Thank you very much! It was nice to meet you, brTT!
