After the release of the teaser photos in the last 4 days featuring the group’s new K/DA skins, the day has come for the exciting reveal. The lyric video for the new single “The Baddest” is out now!
The group made waves in the K-pop and gaming community in 2018 when they first debuted with their song “POP/STARS“. Fans have definitely expressed their wishes for the group to continue since then, filling the 2018 video with excited comments for the comeback. The champions’ teaser photos were accompanied with captions defining their roles. The K-pop group is dressed in black with holographic statements, whether that be their nails or even tail. The countdown began on Aug. 20th when K/DA social media platforms released a photo with their logo, the new single premiere date and title. It started with Ahri’s “The Queen” teaser.
Then, Evelynn with “The Diva”.
Followed by Kaisa’s reveal with the caption “The Dancer”.
And lastly, with a combo of new blonde hair and dark roots, Akali’s “The Rebel” teaser was released on Aug. 26th.
Artists such as Bea Miller, Wolftyla, and K-pop group (G)-Idle provided the voices for the new single. A video teaser was released 30 minutes before the official reveal.
The video for “The Baddest” premiered on Youtube on Aug. 27th at 12pm PST. It started with a 2-minute countdown prior to the video reveal. With almost 200,000 fans waiting at the premiere site, the excitement building up was enormous. The video flaunts epic lyric graphics following the theme of the teasers. The song begins with an almost-chanting theme perfect to start any future League event! With the ladies’ great harmonies and strong rap verse to give the song that K/DA edge throughout the single, “The Baddest” premiere was quite spectacular. This pre-release sets the beginning for a possible full EP and an animated music video.
