LEC Summer Split 2021: News and Schedule

Updated:

LEC Summer Split 2021 is set to begin with a banger, G2 Esports vs MAD Lions! After the Mid-Seasonal Invitational in Reykjavík, MAD Lions returned to their region to prove once more that they deserve to be the crowned kings of Europe! They’ll face first the title holders of the previous summer edition of LEC, G2 Esports, who were defeated by MAD only a few weeks ago.

LEC Summer Split 2021: Format and First Week Schedule

This LEC Summer Split ten teams will compete in a Round Robin Group Stage where only the top 6 teams will move on to Playoffs.

Old and new rivalries are coming back to the Rift: the first-week schedule sound kind of similar to the last first super weeks that we have seen in the last LEC Split, but it’s for sure going to be exciting!

Viego is (finally) enabled and Gwen makes her debut!

Released this year on Patch 11.2 on January 21st, Viego never had the chance to prove himself in the big competition due to several bugs that have forced Riot games to diable him for the time being. This is about to change! This LEC Summer Split 2021 are going to get spicy as we’ll finally have the chance to see Viego, The Ruined King, possibly being picked in one of the most anticipated competitions of the year!

Gwen will also be making her debut in LEC this Summer Split! Released during Patch 11.8 on April 14th, Gwen was considered by many to be a valuable addition to the top lane champion pool, and with all the roster swaps that have taken place can we also hope for an appearance in the jungle?

Only three will make it to Worlds

As a super prize at stake for these LEC Summer Splits there are only three slots available for the three strongest teams in the region to reach the 2021 World Championship. Taking last Spring split into consideration, we can’t predict who will make it to the European summit this summer, which can only mean that every match, every game, every draft will be essential for each team to prove that they are the best that Europe has to offer.
