League of Legends: Patch 10.24 Meta – Mobalytics Tier List

Updated:

Did you know that climbing during the Preseason can help improve your placements once the actual Season arrives? In this guest post, the experts of Mobalytics, discuss the overall trends of the recent patch 10.24 meta, with insights from their LoL tier list.

Patch 10.24 Summary

Patch 10.23 brought a ton of change but 10.24 hasn’t had nearly as much impact as things have started to stabilize. For example, despite their nerfs, AP and Tank Mythics are still holding up strong.

A lot of the change’s this patch were intended to tone back the strong outliers who were dominating the Rift. Although they’re now less effective, they’re still strong enough to be above the opposition.

This patch functions somewhat as a transition patch as a result and we should expect things to shift more when patch 10.25 arrives. For now, here’s the Patch 10.24 meta.

Top Lane – Tanks Are Still Okay

Top lane tanks are still doing quite well even after the nerfs to the Bami’s Cinder items. We’ve also seen champions like Garen and Darius begin to climb back up the ranks as players optimize their builds with the new items.

Keep an eye out for Shen, who’s been doing crazy things recently as his damage is currently overtuned. Right now, he can lead his team in damage output even building as a tank. Sunfire is still a really powerful tool for him and with Grasp and his Q, he’s able to go toe-to-toe against most melee matchups comfortably.

Jungle – Amumu & Nunu Remain At The Top

After the hotfix to Sunfire, Amumu and Nunu + Willump have remained as S-tier tank junglers and Hecarim is still holding on as an S-tier choice despite his nerfs. AP Junglers are slightly rising due to the Jungle items now offering AoE omnivamp but unfortunately, nearly every AP Mythic was nerfed and there isn’t a solid replacement for Runic Echoes yet so their growth will be limited by that.

We’d like to highlight Udyr for this patch as he’s had success in both low and high ELO due to the simplicity of his kit. Phoenix is the way to go due to the recent damage buffs it received but make sure to still take Q level 1 to help you clear early on. Try out going Lichbane second to gain a burst in damage and gain a boost to your Turtle shield.

Mid Lane – AP Trumps AD

You may have expected more movement out of Mid lane due to all the Mythic item changes but this ultimately isn’t the case since AP champs are still much stronger than AD right now. Eclipse had begun to look like a consistent Lethality option but it’s been hotfixed and nerfed so it isn’t looking so hot anymore.

A great option for Mid lane right now is Galio, who offers permanent mid priority, huge roaming pressure, and one-shot potential against squishy champions. By using tools like Predator and Rocketbelt, you can just run into the enemy backline while channelling your taunt to make an easy set up for your team.

Bottom Lane – Vayne Is The Highlight

The big change this patch for Bottom Lane picks was to Kraken Slayer, which received substantial buffs. This is currently the hyper carry Mythic as it gives a ton of attack speed with its passive, so in terms of scaling it’s a really solid pickup. Samira is still a major threat despite her nerfs due to her overloaded kit so she’s still worth a ban this Patch if you don’t like the matchup.

Our highlight for Bot this patch is Vayne, as she’s one of the biggest beneficiaries of the Kraken Slayer change. This should be her ideal spot due to the number of tanks in the meta – once she gets to two items, she’s capable of shredding them and anyone else who gets in her way. Look to pair her with a strong support to make up for her weaknesses and you’ll be 1v9ing.

Supports – Thresh & Leona Dominate Aggressive Picks

The current state of Supports has the likes of Thresh and Leona being the dominant aggressive choices. Imperial Mandate is still really strong so anyone that can use it is in a great spot as well, hence Nami’s upsurge. She’s probably the most optimal user of the item since it procs with basically all of her abilities.

Bard is another great Imperial Mandate user and he’s always been a good solo queue champion due to his roaming agency and ability to pump out solid damage thanks to his Meeps. If you want to try him out, look to communicate with your Jungler to make the most of portal angles and create easy gank setups to snowball your matches.

That’s all for now, these were all the LoL patch 10.24 meta changes. See you soon for our next Meta Trends article!
