Speedrunner Beats Ocarina Of Time In Under 10 Minutes

The Ocarina Of Time Speedrun community has done it again. I will never understand how speed runners are able to do half of the stuff they do, but I admire them and really enjoy watching them. The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time is also in my top 2 favorite games of all time (I can never decide between OOT and RE2), so I love watching speed runners do amazing OOT speed runs. We’ve long thought that the OOT world record has hit a brick wall, and outside of perhaps shaving a second or 2 off, there wasn’t much else that could be done.

But, as always, the speed running community continues to evolve and create new strategies to blow old times away, and now the game has officially hit under 10 minutes. On the 29th January 2020, Baker_zsr set a new world record of 12:19, then on the 2nd February 2020, Lozoots smashed the record with a time of 9:59, the first time to be under 10 minutes. The crazy thing too, apart from a brief stop in the Deku Tree, Lozoots doesn’t leave Kokiri to complete the speed run.

This speed run was completed in the Any% category which is just to complete the game by any means necessary, usually involving using glitches to skip large parts of the game. The current record holder for the glitchless speed run is Dannyb21892 with a time of 3 hours 40 minutes. If you want to check that speed run out you can here, or click the video below to check out Lozoots amazing 9:59 speed run. Huge congratulations to him for achieving this!
