Raid Battle’s give players the opportunity to team up and take down some of the more powerful Pokémon in Pokémon Go.
This guide will show you how to invite friends to Raid Battles in Pokémon Go and some other little bits of information about Raid Battles to help you in-game.
What is a Raid Battle?
A Raid Battle is an in-game event where players can team up with friends or other players around the world to defeat some of the more powerful Pokémon.
The Raid Battles are held at the Gym. To start a Raid Battle, a large Raid Egg will appear above the gym, with a timer on top. Once the timer has reached 0, the battle will be ready to begin.
Raid Battles can show up at any time but they’re more common during the day in the player’s local time.
How to invite friends to Raid Battles in Pokémon Go?
You can either join a raid battle on your own or invite your closest friends to help battle the difficult foe together. It is simple to create your own group of trainers. The way to invite friends to Raid Battle’s in Pokémon Go is:
- Join a public or private Raid Lobby
- Click the invite friends’ button which is located on the right-hand side of the screen
- Click on the friends you would like to invite to your Raid Battle
- Wait for your friends to accept your invite
Make sure you don’t leave the lobby while waiting for your friends to join the Raid Battle. As the creator of the group, it would cancel the whole thing if you left.
Also, if you are invited to a Raid by one of your friends, you cannot add anyone additional to the Battle. You will have to request to the player that invited you if you would like anyone additional added.
How to accept an invitation to a Raid Battle?
Usually, if you are invited to a Raid Battle, you should get a notification to say so. Whether that is through a push notification if you aren’t currently playing Pokémon Go, or a message will pop up in-game if you are playing.
Once you receive the notification, tap it and it will take you to the active Raid Battle to join. Once you are on the Raid Battle screen, simply click the Battle button.
Please note, even if you have been invited to the Raid Battle, that doesn’t guarantee you entry. If maximum numbers of Trainers have been hit, then you will be unable to join.
How many friends can you invite to a Raid Battle?
The normal number of friends you can invite is 5. However, currently, Pokémon Go will allow you to invite up to 10. It is unknown when they’ll take the increased number away.
