PSG Talon dominates Rainbow7 in Day 1 of Play-ins

Updated:

Despite the many roster changes, PSG Talon destroys the first seed from Latin America, setting themselves as the LGD’s main opponent in Group B.

PSG vs R7 – Draft

The two teams’ drafts were pretty in line with the meta played in the major regions. Two things worth noting: Lillia is getting banned more & more often, and teams leave Caitlyn open against PSG. During summer, Wong “Unified” Chun Kit never picked the Sheriff of Piltover. With him temporarily unavailable due to visa restrictions, substitute ADC Chen “Dee” Chun-Dee picked Senna as a response to R7’s Ashe.
Remember that PSG Talon is currently playing with 3 substitutes: other than Unified, who should return soon, both Korean players Kim “River“Dong-woo & Park “Tank” Dan-won are going to miss out on the play-in stage. To fill out the two roles, PSG recruited on loan AHQ esports’ Hsiao “Kongyue” Jen-Tso & Chen “Uniboy” Chang-Chu.

PSG vs R7 – Ekko taking over

The roster change, however, didn’t seem to affect the team that much. Especially the jungler, which usually requires a lot of coordination & synergy with other team members, didn’t feel conditioned by the whole situation.
Kongyue pulled out the Ekko jungle, completing dominating the game with it. Starting with an early kill & an assist, Kongyue & Uniboy were all over the map, setting up plays with Ling “Kaiwing” Kai Wing’s Bard. Kill after kill, Ekko was so much ahead that he was just shotting people over & over again. Not only him, but all PSG’s members were stronger than R7’s counterparts. The Latin team could do little to stop PSG & was taken down in less than 33 minutes. ( 27-8 kill score )

This performance will give PSG a good boost of confidence as they are looking like the ones which might prevent LGD from taking the first spot & the direct ticket to group stage.
They’re going to face them in a few hours, so make sure to tune in to see how it goes.
