Sentinels Quash Fnatic at Masters: Reykjavík

Updated:

After two long matches filled with incredible highlights, Sentinels secured their first match at Masters: Reykjavík, taking down the European side of Fnatic.

In line with their match against KRÜ Esports, Fnatic banned Split and picked Icebox. Haven was picked by Sentinels, leaving Ascent as the decider.

Despite the very fair and square 6-6 score by the end of first half, teams were certainly bringing their A-game to the server.

Entering second time, Sentinels dashed ahead with the Jett of Shahzeb “ShahZaM” Khan topping the scoreboard.

Unshaken, Fnatic kept their cool and even tied it up at 11-11 but Sentinels remained ice cold, closing it out 13-11.

Sentinels got off to a great start on Haven, thanks to some great reads and the consistent openings from Tyson “TenZ” Ngo. A tactical timeout helped Fnatic find some direction, but the European team still found themselves on a four-round deficit at half-time.

The black and orange found their groove on defence, with Nikita “Derke” Sirmitev fully unlocked to wreak havoc on the server. However, it just wasn’t enough to reach the heels of Sentinels.

The North-American team secured a match-point in style thanks to an impressive spray transfer from Michael “dapr” Gulino. They converted shortly, with a 13-10 closing out the series.

For their next step at Masters: Reykjavík, Sentinels will take on Team Vikings for a spot at the Upper Finals. Fnatic will have a day off, as they wait in the Lower-Bracket for the winner of X10-Crazy Raccoons.
