Player Is Uploading Skyrim Screenshots Until Elder Scrolls 6 Comes Out

It could be a very long time until The Elder Scrolls 6 comes out. At the time of writing, Bethesda has said very little about the development stage of the next iteration in the long-running epic RPG franchise. It more than likely isin full swing, but so far pretty much nothing is known about it. Understandably, some are starting to get a little bit impatient with one fan deciding to post daily screenshots taken from Skyrim until the next game comes out.

Reddit user /u/Shankface has been uploading images from Elder Scrolls 5 to numerous Skyrim-related threads and is currently over the hundred-day point. The latest one went up earlier today, and marks the 104th screenshot they’ve posted. This new one shows what appears to be the first dungeon from the opening moments that take place in Helgen, though it’s quite dark and difficult to tell.

It’s hard to say exactly how long they’ll be able to keep this up given that Bethesda is currently working on getting Starfield out by the end of this year, but it feels like we’ll be playing Skyrim for a long time. As a result, it’s likely that Shankface will have to keep posting many more screenshots for the time being.

There are two things that can be garnered from this venture: namely that this will be a test of steely determination to see whether the Reddit user will be able to continue showing their screenshot taking skills. At the same time, it also shows just how beautiful Skyrim still is, even after ten years.

As the latest in the Elder Scrolls franchise, it still holds up in terms of its visuals and it’s unlikely that Shankface will run out of interesting or even gorgeous images to show. There are, after all, so many beautiful locales that can be captured in screenshot form, as they’ve already demonstrated.

At this point, there’s a chance that they’re doing this as a petty challenge to see how long it takes for Bethesda to actually release the next one in the series. Fans are clearly getting impatient, and while the sight of multiple Skyrim screenshots every day is not exactly a bad thing, there’s only so long players will be able to remain patient. Take the YouTuber who’s killing Nazeem every day until the new game arrives.

The studio is bound to make mention of the next Elder Scrolls game if not before Starfield launches then at least shortly after it. It’s been more than a decade since the last entry and as much as fans are squeezing the life out of it, there’s likely to come a point in which posting Skyrim images just doesn’t cut it anymore, no matter how pretty they may be.
