In Temtem’s current early access, there are three ways you can evolve in Temtem, levelling, trading, and places of power. Here is how you evolve Temtem.
How to evolve with levelling
Most Temtem evolve naturally through leveling up. Once you catch or hatch a Temtem, there is a set amount of levels they must level up to evolve. Unlike other catch-em-all games they do not have a set level to reach. So if you hatch a Swali at level 1, you must level it up 8 levels to evolve it to a Loali.
How to evolve with trading
There is currently only one Temtem that can evolve this way during early access, Azuroc. Azuroc can be evolved from Lapinite through leveling up, but can only evolve further through trade. When you trade Azuroc to another trainer, it can evolve into Zenoreth, its final form.
How to evolve with places of power
So far there is only one Temtem that evolves this way, Tuwai. There are different places of power scattered around the islands of Temtem, where you can bring your Tuwai and interact to undergo a special evolution. Different places of power evolve your Tuwai into different versions with different moves and typing.
Stopping evolutions
Evolving your Temtem will almost always make them more powerful and unlock new more powerful moves, but if you don’t want your Temtem to change, stopping the process is easy. If you find your Temtem evolving and you don’t want them to, you can stop the process midway through by pressing the Z or Esc button on PC, and B or Y for Xbox.
Make sure to check your button or key configuration if you changed them or you might miss out on the chance to stop their evolution. If you do cancel an evolution, you can always evolve them later on their details page, but once a Temtem evolves it cannot be reversed.
