Tower of Fantasy: How to Get Equipment

Published:

There are many items in Tower of Fantasy that you need to grind for and enhance. One of them is your character’s equipment. Equipment can become a crucial part of your “best Tower of Fantasy build” so here’s how it works and the best ways to get it.

What is Equipment For?

Equipment is another way of empowering your character. It can be found and upgraded in your inventory (press “B” by default). There are a total of 8 core pieces of equipment:

  • Head
  • Shoulders
  • Chest
  • Arms
  • Gloves
  • Belt
  • Legs
  • Boots

Each piece of equipment has base and random stats that will boost your character’s overall performance in combat. This way it can become a key way to tailor your build to something specific.

Finally, the more and the better your equipment is, the higher your CS (Combat Score) will be. Certain activities can require you to have a certain Combat Score before you can access them.

Best Places to Get Equipment

As to where you can get equipment in Tower of Fantasy, there are a few places. But only a couple of them are farmable, so keep that in mind.

Joint Operations

The main way of obtaining equipment in Tower of Fantasy is through Joint Operations. Joint Operations is a 4-player dungeon that you have to clear to get good rewards. Along with equipment, you can also receive matrixes to improve your weapons.

There are a total of five Joint Operations available at the moment. Each one is available on certain days during the week and features a specific loot pool. To open chests throughout the dungeon and get the loot you will need 90 vitality (3 chests, 30 per chest). You get roughly 180 per day.

Here are all the Joint Operations, their available days, and the equipment piece pool:

  • Spacetime Training Ground (Friday, Sunday): Arms, Chest
  • Quarantine Area (Monday, Saturday): Arms, Chest
  • Hyenas Arena (Wednesday, Sunday): Head, Shoulders
  • Deepsea Stronghold (Tuesday, Saturday): Legs, Gloves
  • Deepsea Proving Ground (Thursday, Sunday): Boots, Belt

To start a Joint Operation go to the “Adventure” menu (crossed swords in the top right), then go to “Select”. The first game mode will be Joint Operation. There you can choose to run solo or find a team and choose a difficulty. The difficulty will affect the rarity of drops you get.

Crystal Dust Store

As a reward for spending vitality in activities like Joint Operation, you will receive Energy Crystal Dust. You can spend it in the Crystal Dust Store on gifts for your Simulacras or Fine and Rare equipment. You will need to increase your Wanderer’s level to get access to all of the items in the store though.

To open Crystal Dust Store go to the “Special Orders” (Gacha) menu and press on the “Weapon Store” in the bottom left.

Ruins

Some of the Ruins offer equipment rewards for clearing them at a certain difficulty. You will need to check manually where can you find the loot you need by clicking on the Ruins on the minimap or by going to “Adventure” > “Recommended” > “Ruins”.

Unfortunately, in Tower of Fantasy, you can’t clear ruins multiple times to farm equipment. But it’s a nice bonus if you haven’t completed some of them.

Frontier Clash

Frontier Clash is an activity that unlocks on Wanderer level 39. It’s a co-op PvE world activity that will be available on specific days and times. You can clear them with other players and receive rewards including equipment.

You can access Frontier Clash by going to the “Adventure” > “Select” > “Frontier Clash” or by locating the event structures around the map.

Password Chests

Finally, some equipment can drop from Password Chests appearing randomly throughout the world. They are in a pyramid shape and you can either use a key or force decipher them. Using a key will give you better loot and since you get a lot of them throughout the game, might as well use them.

Should I Farm Now?

The equipment is not that important when you are just starting out in Tower of Fantasy. However, running Joint Operations is the best way to spend your vitality. And spending vitality is one of the tasks in the Newcomer Event that will get you a free SSR weapon. Which we know you want.

So the best advice would be to spend vitality on those Joint Operations whenever you can and then enhance what you can. Even if you get low-tier items, they will give you a nice boost to your CS. And when you get a better piece you can transfer the old piece’s enhancements onto a better one.
