In Escape from Tarkov, you will discover new features every time you play, one of the less-known features is using a flashlight on your helmet. But the default keybind for turning on helmet gear (night vision, shield) which is the “N” key, will not work with attached flashlights.
Currently, the only way to turn on the flashlight on your helmet in Escape from Tarkov is to mount it to a weapon, turn it on (“T” key by default), and then move it to your helmet.
The flashlight will remain on while on your helmet. But to turn it off you will have to repeat the process or if you want to be quick, simply detach the flashlight and stash it in your pockets.
Keep in mind that to install a flashlight on your helmet you need to have a slot for a mount on the helmet and the mount itself. The most common mount is “Ops Core Picatinny Rail Adapter Mount”. It will fit almost any type of flashlight and costs around 50,000 rubles at the Flea Market.
It is unclear whether this will be getting fixed in any way or not, so we would recommend you use mounted flashlights on weapons only for the time being.
