Minecraft is filled with unique enchantments that you can use on specific equipment. For example, Respiration for a helmet, Channeling for a trident, and Quick Charge for a crossbow and bow.
Quick Charge is an enchantment you can only use on crossbows and bows to reduce the charge time of the crossbow by a certain amount.
What is Quick Charge Enchantment?
The Quick Charge enchantment in Minecraft can be applied to both bows and crossbows but unless you want a submachine gun, the crossbow will see much better use of this enchantment due to its higher range and damage.
The regular charge time of a crossbow is 1.25 seconds which is quite slow. Quick Charge enchantment can shorten this time by quite a lot depending on the enchantment level.
There are three levels of Quick Charge and here’s how each level affects the charge time:
- Quick Charge I: 1 second
- Quick Charge II: 0.75 seconds
- Quick Charge III: 0.5 seconds
Quick Charge III will make your crossbow as fast as the regular bow. But ultimately, a crossbow with any level of Quick Charge enchantment will become a much better weapon than a regular.
How to Get Quick Charge
Obtaining Quick Charge is the same as any other enchantment in Minecraft. You can either use the enchantment table to enchant your crossbow or find an enchanted book.
At the enchantment table, you will be able to try and get the Quick Charge at level 30 enchantment. But you are likely to get Quick Charge I or Quick Charge II at most. Getting Quick Charge III is best done using books.
The books can be found in dungeons or traded out with villager librarians. You will then have to use the anvil to apply the enchantment to your crossbow. However, in the case of books, if you have two Quick Charge II books, you can combine them using the anvil to get the Quick Charge III enchantment.
