Who Exactly is Among Us Developer Innersloth?

Updated:

Among Us has taken off with the recent Coronavirus pandemic, so I thought it would be a great time to do a deep dive into who the developers of the 2020 hit, Innersloth, really are!

Who is Innersloth?

Innersloth’s “About” page includes a short bio on the 3 incredibly talented people that made Among Us developer, Innersloth, what it is today.

Innersloth is made up of Forest Willard, Marcus Bromander, and Amy Liu. Forest handles the business end of things at Innersloth (and really enjoys bouldering on the side), Marcus is an artist, animator, and game designer, and Amy is the other artist at Innersloth! Marcus also published the Henry Stickmin Collection as well as Dig2China under the publishing title “Puffballs United.” He was also a voice actor in Lucky Tower 2 Unsurprisingly, Marcus also likes to play a lot of games on the side. Amy worked on Among Us and is also currently working on developing merchandise and future Innersloth games! She enjoys photography, drawing, taking naps (and in the middle of this pandemic…who doesn’t?), and hanging out with friends in her free time.

According to the Innersloth Game page, they have developed and published Dig2China, The Henry Stickmin Collection, and the extremely popular Among Us.

[Update]

Innersloth has recently added the extraordinarily talented Victoria Tran previously of Kitfox Games to their team!

Tran is now the Community Director for Innersloth as well as a co-organizer for Game & Colour, a community that aims to support and amplify game developers of color in Montreal, Canada. Tran has also previously worked on projects such as Among Us, Boyfriend Dungeon, Dwarf Fortress, Pupperazzi, Mondo Museum, Lucifer Within Us, Six Ages, Moon Hunters, The Shrouded Isle, Omensight, and Leap of Fate. She’s definitely got a lot of experience and I have no doubt she’s been an incredible asset to the Innersloth team!

Innersloth Games

Released in 2015, Dig2China is a game in which you are to “dig through the center of the Earth, starting right in your backyard all the way to China! Upgrade your digger and plunge through 13 layers of the Earth to prove that if you dig deep enough, you really will make it to the other side. And make it back in time for dinner!” Dig2China is available on the Google Play Store as well as the Apple App store for $0.99.

The Henry Stickmin Collection includes all previous games including Breaking the Bank, Escaping the Prison, Stealing the Diamond, Infiltrating the Airship, and Fleeing the Complex, as well as a new game that serves as the Henry Stickmin finale! In the Henry Stickmin Collection, “Breaking the Bank has been completely redone. All the previous games have newly remastered art and sound. To top it all off, a new Henry Stickmin game was developed to complete the series, Completing the Mission! CtM is 3x bigger than Fleeing the Complex and features 16 Endings and 164 Fails!” Innersloth’s Henry Stickmin Collection is available on Steam for $14.99 USD!

One of 2020’s biggest games, Among Us is by far Innersloth’s most popular game of all time. In the game, players must work together to complete tasks around the map to fix their ship…simple right? Well it would be if one of your crewmates weren’t a backstabbing (literally) shapeshifter known as “The Impostor.” The Impostor’s goal is to eliminate the rest of the crew and sabotage the ship while remaining anonymous all before the ship reaches home. Shortly after the June 2018 launch, Among Us had a concurrent player peak at 17 in December 2018. Fast forward to September 2020 and the game is bigger than ever with a concurrent player peak reaching a staggering 438,524 concurrent players! That’s a 708.66% gain almost 2 years after launch! The 2020 Coronavirus pandemic is sure to have boosted these numbers quite significantly, as the game is a very easy, simple, and quite honestly just a fun way to spend time with friends while still in a socially distanced environment. In fact, the game became so popular that Innersloth has completely scrapped their work on the sequel in order to focus on development for the current game.

Among Us developer, Innersloth, has also developed a game called Sports, though the game is not officially recognized on their Games page. Sports was developed for Ludum Dare Game Jam 41 and released on NewGrounds on April 23, 2018. “Ludum Dare is an event where you create a game from scratch in a weekend based on a theme.” The theme for Ludum Dare Game Jam 41 was “Combine 2 Incompatible Genres.” Sports is a soccer game. A soccer game with swords. Sports is a soccer game mixed with a brawler where you get to cut down your opponents with swords while you play a game of soccer. As of June 2018, the game now has gamepad and multiplayer support.
