With the talent tree overhaul from pick one of three, to a literal tree, it’s going to take more thought about where you apply your talents. With that in mind, we’ve compiled a selection of the current best beast mastery hunter talents to take in WoW’s Dragonflight expansion.
Strongest Beast Mastery Hunter Talents in Dragonflight
So first we must beg the question, what should you prioritize in all scenarios? What Beast Mastery Hunter Talents are considered the best and must haves?
Hunter is known for its high DPS capabilities with mobility. Being able to move and shoot at all times allows them to take the reins on boss mechanics that would otherwise be stressful or too much loss of DPS for a stationary class, such as mage.
The new talent tree is split into two sides, the general class tree, and the specialization tree. For Hunters in general, you want to ALWAYS take Posthaste. It is your best mobility skill, hands down. You also want to take Counter Shot for interrupts, Natural Mending for self-sustain, and Survival of the Fittest for mitigation. Also make sure to allocate Intimidation for crowd control, Beast Master for extra pet damage, and Improved Kill Command for a higher amount of execute damage.
When Should You Change Your Talents, and How Should You Change Them?
One useful thing that Blizzard did, was add the ability to save a talent tree setup as a preset. This means you can create multiple pages for multiple different scenarios and always be prepared.
So when is it appropriate to swap between trees? When Raiding, you use AoE/Cleave for trash pulls between boss fights and swap to a single target for boss fights.
When progressing Mythic+ Dungeons, you mostly want to stick to the AoE/Cleave tree for faster trash pulls at the sacrifice of slower boss fights.
Best Beast Mastery Hunter Mythic+ Talents
For those who don’t know, Mythic+ is a progressive challenge dungeon game mode allowing you to face the dungeons in the game at harder and harder difficulties. Knowing the dungeons and your class is very important. And having the best loadout is critical to high-level keystone completion.
That being said, oftentimes, the bosses are not the major time killer, but the buffed-up trash mobs between them are. As such, here are the current best Hunter and Beast Mastery Talent Trees for Mythic+.
Best Beast Mastery Hunter Raiding Talents
When raiding, you typically focus on the more intense boss mechanics with teamwork oriented. As such, your talents will most likely change per boss fight depending on the needs.
The talent setup below is more of a general setup for raiding, not including any specific boss fight mechanics in the equation.
The general talent selections you will want to take are as follows:

That being said, if you swap out talents in favor of making certain boss mechanics easier to handle, always make sure that the talents you work around do not make you lose effectiveness during your burst DPS windows. A hunter with mobility but no damage is just a party slot wasted.
Player Versus Player (PvP)
In PvP, it’s generally better to play either Marksman or Survival Hunter. However, if you plan on playing Beast Mastery anyways, focus on Survival, Crowd Control, and execute damage.
Survival stops you from dying as quickly. Crowd control helps you burn your opponents’ CC breakers faster. And finally, execute damage can help secure the kill even with a pocket healer fighting against you.
The current best talents to take in PvP for a Beast Mastery Hunter are still being determined as of the current patch and are expected to be updated in the coming weeks.
Keep in mind that any of the talent trees above are the general best talents to take. You can feel free to change these to adapt to both situation and playstyle. As long as you focus on the strengths of the hunter while selecting your talents, you will almost always remain relevant, no matter what you’re doing.
