The Best Amps in Warframe

Amps are an integral part of Operator gameplay in Warframe. The amp you bring into battle can be the difference between life and death, so it’s vital that you pick the right one for the job. We’ll be covering the best amps for your character down below.

Understanding Amps

Before you get started with building amps, make sure you understand how amp names work. This way you can quickly understand how to make each amp you see in the game. If you already know how amp notation works, skip to the next section for our amp recommendations.

Amp Notation

Since amps don’t have specific names, Warframe players typically use a 3-digit code to quickly describe the parts that make up a particular amp. Each number describes one of the three components that make up the amp. The first number refers to the prism, the second refers to the scaffold, and the third refers to the brace.

You can check this chart to see which components correspond to each number:

Using this chart, we can see that a 2-3-4 amp would be made up of the second prism, the third scaffold, and the fourth brace. This means the recipe for a 2-3-4 is a Shwaak Prism, Klebrik Scaffold, and Anspatha Brace.

The Best Amp for Early-Game Players: 1-2-3

When you get your first amp, you’re likely to want to upgrade it as soon as possible. The best way to do this is to build a similar amp: the 1-2-3. This amp is an easily accessible upgrade that will add a grenade launcher to your arsenal. The Lohrin Brace will also give you a higher chance of dealing critical hits to enemies.

A 1-2-3 amp is constructed from a Raplak Prism, a Shraksun Scaffold, and a Lohrin Brace. All three of these components are available very early on from Onkko, a vendor found in Cetus, Earth.

Be sure to level up your rank within The Quills to level 3 so Onkko can gild your amp and bring it to its full potential.

The Best Amp For Eidolon Hunting: 1-7-7

The 1-7-7 is widely considered to be the meta amp for hunting the most dangerous Eidolons in the game. It boasts great critical hit percentages, high accuracy, and huge DPS thanks to its explosive projectiles.

The 1-7-7 is constructed from a Raplak Prism, a Propa Scaffold, and a Certus Brace. Since this amp uses parts from the 7th tier of items, you’ll have to wait until you’ve reached Little Duck on Venus to construct it. Once you do, however, you’ll have access to an incredible piece of gear.

The one downside of using the 1-7-7 is that its damage falls off fast at long range. You’ll have to stick close to enemies to ensure they take the most damage. The Propa Scaffold’s slow projectiles also mean that you must carefully time your shots hit the target when using it.

The Best Amp for Inflicting Status Effects: 6-5-3

You don’t have to build amps for purely damaging purposes. After all, Warframe is a co-op game, and it pays to have a member of the team inflict status effects so the rest of the team can go all out with damage.

The best amp for this is the 6-5-3, a combination that focuses on boosting the chances that you’ll inflict a status effect on enemies. Since amps primarily inflict Void damage, the status effect you’ll be inflicting with the 6-5-3 is Bullet Attractor.

As you might expect, Bullet Attractor causes all projectiles around an inflicted enemy to home in on the enemy, allowing the team to spray bullets and always hit their target. This effect also impacts enemy projectiles, preventing them from hitting you.

The 6-5-3 is built with a Lega Prism, an Exard Scaffold, and a Lohrin brace. While two of these components aren’t obtainable until you meet Little Duck on Venus, they’re absolutely worth waiting for.

As we mentioned, Warframe is a co-op game. This means you might want to take some time learning mechanics and looking for stuff that will give you the most out of the co-op experience:
