Is Forza Horizon 4 Split Screen?

Nothing will ever beat the good old split screen gaming sessions with your mates. The golden era of split screen games is ancient history and gamers aren’t left with many choices. You’re probably wondering, does Forza Horizon 4 support split screen similar to Forza Motorsport?

Is Forza Horizon 4 Split-Screen?

Forza Horizon 4 does not support a split screen mode. The entire Horizon series doesn’t support split screen. So if you’re looking to sit down and race with your mates, you will need to give Forza Motorsport a try.

This applies to both PC and Xbox, so you won’t be able to enjoy couch gaming sessions with someone regardless of the platform.

How Can You Play Forza Horizon 4 With Someone?

The only way to play Forza Horizon 4 with someone is through the online co-op mode, in which you can team up with up to four other players. While this is not the same as playing with someone next to you, it’s still something.

Why Are There No Split-Screen Games Anymore?

There are a few reasons why developers aren’t making split-screen games anymore, and the biggest reason is that they aren’t profitable enough, and the same applies to Forza Horizon 4. Think about it – gaming companies are selling one copy of the game per player, and with the split-screen (which could even go up to 4 players in certain games), they wouldn’t be able to sell that many games.

In addition to that, making a split-screen game with the modern game engine nowadays is quite challenging and requires way too much effort. This is mainly because devs need to render two (or four) scenes rather than one, and that would require lots of tweaking that would make the game less appealing.

It’s unfortunate that Forza Horizon 4 doesn’t support split screen because that would make it one of the rare modern racing games that supports it, not to mention that lots of gamers would socialize just because of this game.
