Compies are one of the most curious and aggressive beasts in ARK: Survival Evolved. They always hunt in packs and can be surprisingly dangerous for their size. How to Knock Out Compy in ARK: Survival Evolved
Taming a Compy might be one of the most miserable things a player can do. A Compy is relatively easy to knock out, but they only consume prime foods and are exceedingly difficult to tame.
If you have knocked many Compies out, be cautious since they might wake up unexpectedly, giving the others a chance to wake up as well while you are not paying attention. If you want to tame ARK’s Compy with no stress, just kill its friends.
When hunting Compies, it is advisable to locate a lone Compy or take a smaller companion (like the Pulmonoscorpius) to break up bigger groupings. It is quite easy to take them out with 2 or 3 Tranquilizer Darts while they are attacking. Players should wear a Flak Armor since they do little to no damage against it.
A Pulmonoscorpius may also make it ridiculously simple to knock one out. Simply approach them and use a single or double stinger on each animal, depending on the levels involved. Hitting them twice though is more likely to kill than knock out. After a little while, they will all faint and slump down, ready to be tamed.
Compy’s Favorite Food for Taming
The Compy is one of the most annoying dinosaurs when it comes to food. They only eat prime meats, and this can be horrible at the start of the game.
Finding a compy group near a river, then harvesting Sabertooth Salmon is a pretty simple approach for a beginner player to tame ARK’s Compy. If you are wondering why this is relatively easy, Sabertooth Salmon occasionally drops prime meats. Another good food is Raw Prime Fish Meat that you can get by fishing with a weapon
You usually won’t have much time to collect Raw Prime Meat because its torpor depletes quickly. When you have Raw Prime Meat and Narcotics, you may just use a taming pen. Put raw prime meat and drugs in the Compy and keep a tight eye on the torpor.
