Astralis eying lekr0 as a stand-in for xyp9x

Updated:

According to a report by Dekay, Astralis are looking into the option of adding Jonas ‘lekr0’ Olofsson on a temporary basis. He would be stepping in for Andreas ‘xyp9x’ Hojsleth. Xyp9x has reportedly left the active lineup for the foreseeable future.

The nature and extent of the break xyp9x is taking have not been reported. Sources say that he will be stepping down for the duration of the Dreamhack Master series. For now, coach Danny ‘zonic’ Sorensen has replaced him during practice.

The rumors come on the heels of Lukas ‘Gla1ve’ Rossander, Astralis’ IGL, announcing he’ll be taking a break from playing. While his departure was accounted for by the addition of Jakob ‘JUGI’ Hansen earlier this month, Astralis are now scrambling to fill their roster. They had signed Patrick ‘es3tag’ Hansen back in March, but he will join once his current contract with Heroic runs out in July. According to Dekay, Astralis tried to negotiate about an immediate transfer, but those talks fell through.

To fill the temporary gap, Astralis is now looking towards Lekr0. The 26-year old was recently dropped by Ninjas in Pyjamas but has since expressed his desire to return to the top. If he would join Astralis, he would have the chance to show that he still has what it takes to be there.

Untill further notice, Astralis has the following lineup:

Denmark Nicolai “device” Reedtz
Denmark Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen
Denmark Emil “Magisk” Reif
Denmark Jakob “JUGi” Hansen

Denmark Danny “zonic” Sørensen (coach)
