That’s not a plane, that’s a nuke. If you played Call of Duty before you know how it feels to drop a nuke on the battlefield after the greatest fight in your life. If you never played Call of Duty before let us introduce you to the world of killstreaks and which ones are the best in Call of Duty: Vanguard.
What are Killstreaks?
Killstreaks are the ultimate abilities that you can use in multiplayer. Those are not only fun to use but can also greatly affect the outcome of a match. You unlock killstreaks when eliminating a certain number of opponents without dying.
In Vanguard there are nine killstreak categories each has its own kill requirement. The more expensive the killstreak is the more deadly it is. There are a bunch of different ones like dropping a bomb (not a nuke) on an enemy or revealing their positions. Not all of the killstreaks are unlocked straight away you have to advance through account levels to unlock them just like with weapons.
Here’s the full list of killstreaks and what they do in Call of Duty: Vanguard:
3 Kills
- Intel. Reveals nearby enemies through on the minimap over a short period. Intel is only grabted to the player who called it in.
4 Kills
- Care Package. Drops a bag which rewards a random killstreak in pickup.
- Spy Plane. Calls in a spy plane which reveals enemy positions on the minimap to you and your allies. Can be shot down.
- Counter Spy Plane. Calls in a counter spy plane which obscures the minimap for all enemies. Can be shot down.
5 Kills
- Glide Bomb. A remote controlled bomb with a large kill radius.
- Mortar Barrage. Toss a flare to mark an area for repeated mortar fire.
- Warmachine. Equips a semi-automatic grenade launcher.
6 Kills
- Guard Dog. Calls in a guard dog for protection. The dog can be commanded to either guard a position or heel.
- Strafing Run. Calls in an air support to strafe across a market target area.
7 Kills
- Bombing Run. Allied bombers make three runs on areas with high concentrations of enemies.
- Deathmachine. Equips a machine gun with explosive rounds.
8 Kills
- Emergency Airdrop. Drops three care epackages.
9 Kills
- Flamenaut. Protective suit and a flamethrower with unlimited fuel.
10 Kills
- Attack Dogs. Dogs that hunt nearby enemies
- Firebombing Run. Bombs a marked area with explosives that kill on impact and leave a fiery wake.
12 Kills
- Local Informants. Reaveals the location and direction of all enemies.
Best Killstreak Loadout
Even though there are no nukes in Call of Duty: Vanguard there are plenty of others that are incredibly fun and deadly. Fun is great but kills are better, so let’s assemble the best killstreak loadout for you to use in multiplayer and get the most kills without getting hurt.
Your loadout consists of three killstreaks. Each killstreak has to be from a different category, for example, you can’t have three killstreaks that require 7 kills to use. The best way to tackle this is to split killstreaks to have one for the low, medium, and a high number of kills. You can pick one from each 9,10 and 12 kill killstreaks but I doubt you will be using them as much.
What you consider a low, medium, and high of course depends on the level of mastery. The loadout below is more focused on an average player with some FPS background but not as much in Call of Duty.
Low Kills. There isn’t much fun in the cheap killstreaks but those are useful to the team. The best would be Spy Plane or Care Package. Spy plane gives information to the whole team unlike Intel and Care Package is a fun way to maybe get something as powerful as a Deathmachine.
Medium Kills. The best medium-level killstreak has to be a Glide Bomb. It has a decent radius and highlights the enemies when you guide it. The only issue with it is that glide bombs are not useful at all when it comes to maps with a lot of buildings as they can’t damage through the roof.
High Kills. From the killstreaks, within the 7-8 kill sector the favorite is Bombing Run. It does everything automatically and effectively. Each bombing run would grant me 6+ kills from all three runs. Although, if you are confident in your shooting abilities Deathmachine is also okay. Okay because you are still easy to kill and it can be way harder to shoot 6 kills with it. At least for an average player.
Glide Bomb Incoming
In the end, you have a solid loadout with the best killstreaks to play Call of Duty: Vanguard with and have fun with the game. Spy Plane, Glide Bomb, and Bombing Run. Of course, feel free to experiment, and if you are an incredible player who drops 10+ kill bombs every time pick something more exciting, like Firebombing Run.
